Thought the first photo was of this bobcat carrying a rabbit but after walking past the camera five times with another 'rabbit' I realized it was her litter that she was moving.
Needs to die because he’s killing turkeys on my property. There are plenty here. I kill them when I can just like coyotes. He is doing what God made him to do and I’ll be doing the same.
Awesome What you should do is not to concentrate on Coyote and bobcat BUT every animal that you do not like or that you feel is not worthy of living and wipe them out. Skunks raccoons possums all cats dogs mice rats various snakes etc etc.
Do that and you will end up with a sportsmans paradise!! All game animals and game birds
RK...what kind of cat is that with a long tail? I Googled pics of lynx's and bobcat's and I didn't see any with a tail like that. I know there is an exotic semi-wild/domestic cat that might fit that description but I can't remember the name. Could that by chance be an ocelot??
Last October I got a great 30 second video clip on one of my trail cams where a nice bob has a squirrel trapped under a big log laying on the ground. He's walking up and down and around the log trying to figure a way to get him. He's very calm and calculated but not in a panic at all. I think he knows he can't get him. To top it off the audio is also excellent as there's a flock of turks sitting just overhead squawking their brains out watching the show right under them. I had it burned onto a CD but I'm not smart enough to know how to mail or download this stuff. Sorry. bw
Rupe...I never seen one either....even on Google. That is why I was guessing an exotic that got loose or an ocelot. Maybe other folks have seen a long tailed bobcat???
CA outlawed hunting bobcats last year. There are so many around, just another liberal agenda item.. No mountain lion or bobcat hunting, bears will be next. Eliminate the deer herds, eliminate the hunters. Know your enemy.
Lol now that you mention it t-roy, I guess that picture could be interpreted that way. All along I’ve been thinking the bobcat was trying to get the squirrel. Go figure!
Actually I’m headed that way to hunt CT and RI for a few days Trapper. I’m not sure what you intended by your comment, but I’d like to know if you’d be more specific. Are you against killing bobcats? I’d by you a drink and discuss if you are on the east side of NY.
Pretty sure this cat killed a mature 8 point buck on us he was the only animal to visit the carcass plus he has more than 9 lives there are 5 canine extreme traps around the carcass. Not one set off.Lewis
I would not mind having a mount with one chasing a quail in flight. I have drawn on one but never could bring myself to shoot. They are tough to get drawn on but I do not have many on our property. They used to outnumber the quail but the balance has shifted and I have more coveys of birds now than I have cats.
No picture, but about the mid 70's we were on a field trip meeting of foresters and wildlife managers focused mostly on forest management related to Ruffed Grouse. About 10 or 12 of us walking down a logging trail through Aspen reproduction as the host wildlife manager is talking about predators on grouse and right in front of us a grouse burst across the trail 5 feet off the ground with a bobcat mid air right behind it with one paw swiping at it. A couple feathers flew, the grouse was gone, and when the cat hit the ground it was gone! Pretty cool! Of course we accused the wildlifer of staging it.
I've had many encounters with bobcats. Had one chase a cottontail rabbit around my stand and kill it less than 10 yards behind my stand. It was funny watching the cat pull the hide off of the rabbit and getting the fur stuck in it's mouth. Seemed it spent more time spitting fur than eating it's meal. lol
Here is a video I took. I watched a cat catch a squirrel right in front of me. Before I could get the camera turned on a coyote ran in & took it from the cat. That's where the video starts.
Many years ago I was sitting in a tree stand hoping a big buck deer might show up. Then all of a sudden I looked up from my feet to see this bobcat looking at me It’s the only bobcat I have ever taken a photo of.
