My daughter shot her 1st deer at the age of 8. She loves the outdoors and to hunt and fish. In the 7th grade she made her school's archery team and has been committing with the team for 3 years. Last year she even made it to Nationals.
Well, this year we dropped the gun and move over to the bow. I told her from here on out only bow hunting. Lol Its been a learing cure for sure. Learning when to move and when not to. Shot angles and etc. Well, this past weekend she finally got her 1st animal with a bow.
I love being with her and cherishing ever minute I can spend with her!!
After her hog, I took my 9 year old boy out for a spot and stak. He was smiling ear to ear the whole time. I figured he would be on the loud side but he was quite as a mouse!! Those little feet were steahly!! Lol
Looks like a great experience with the kids! Bet that one will be etched in their memories forever! Great job, Dad!

I’m not a big proponent of getting kids out in the field killing things before they’re 13 or so, but I suppose that’s because I absolutely loved hunting with my dad and older brother for years before I got out there with a shotgun myself; probably a good way to teach a kid that there’s a lot more to enjoy about hunting than just punching a tag.
One thing for sure, though… If there’s one thing we all need, it’s more pig hunters ;)
