Finished this mount a few weeks ago and just finished these three videos of the process. By far the largest piece of taxidermy for me.

Very Cool... I watched all 3 videos start to finish.

Great stuff.

How long have you been doing Taxidermy? How do you approach working on a new species?

BO-N-ARO, awesome videos. I do have a question on how you made your wrinkles, did you just use hide paste or did you use clay under the skin to make them. I dabble in taxidermy and complete d a short hair deer mount for a special young girl who had cancer and i just used hide paste under the skin and formed the wrinkles, but I'd like to know how you did your. Thanks, Scott

Very neat documentation of your work. Gives a perspective and a greater appreciation for taxidermy work.

Also, a very nice giraffe trophy. Awesome animals in many ways.

I approach a new animal with reference. I like Omer at hundreds of pics on line and spent a couple hours at the zoo watching giraffe taking pics and vids. Been doing taxidermy as a hobby and part time business for over 40 years. Took me 45/50 hours to modify the form and 25/30 for mounting and finishing. I used over 20 tubes of latex chalk for the wrinkles. As I was sewing up the neck I would leave a inch or two opened every foot or two. I had a 30 inch long tube on the call tube that I would slide in the opening and pump in the chalk as needed. Thanks to all!!!
