Rinehart 1/3 scale elk target

Does anyone have this target? For the price is it durable?
The ad states shots taken at 20 yards would be equivalent of a 60 yard shot in the field.
So of I put this mini 3D elk at 60 yards I should be good to go on real elk in the field at 180 yards.
I have that target, if hit in kill zone it is fairly easy to get arrows out. If not in kill zone you better have the arrows lubed up.
I bought the lifesize target instead of the 1/3 size. I wanted to get used to their real size, and I felt that going with a smaller target would tend to make me misjudge distances when afield, if I didn't have time to use a rangefinder.
I’ve shot it at 3D shoots and we had one in bear camp last week. Nice target, it’s just small for an elk. It does have the cool factor of being a “big” bull.
I’m with medicinemann. I think the whole point of 3D targets is to get used to shooting at the actual size. If you don’t have room or budget for the full size, just buy a bag or block type target.
....and if a budget IS the issue, contact your local archery clubs looking for one that is perhaps somewhat old or shot up.....once you get one, buy a replacement core, patch it up, and proceed to shoot the tar out of it. I did that with one target many years ago, and got several more seasons out of it.
I went with this one-------->
I wanted Double Duty use, home and in elk camp was my main decision.
Good luck, Robb
I just got one for the kids and I knowing I didn’t want to spend $1000 on a full size. So far so good. Looks good just small. I have shot at it out to 40 yards.
They've had that target on sale on Camofire pretty cheap.
I got mine at cabelas. Today is 10% Tuesday and free shipping. Camofire never works out for me due to shipping cost, is very high on targets to PA.
Wild, I think I remember it being $140 but I could be, and often am, wrong! :)
I think Big Jim also has a 1/3 scale caribou. Both are cool targets and I want one.
Bill
I saw the caribou. I might buy both...
I scanned photos of elk-size vitals and made my own broadside target face and frontal target face for my Rinehart Block; I laminated the A3 sheets for increased durability
Just got one cheap from camofire. My 3D deer target got blown up by a real buck again.
Seems OK. I haven’t been able to shoot it hardly at all.
Rain, rain, rain and more rain here. Rivers and creeks are well outside their banks. Back yard is a swamp.
Hopefully I’ll be able to give you actual feedback soon.
Bulelk1 where did you get that elk vital target??
Yea second that question.
I shoot one every day at 40 yards. I'm guessing it has taken about 400 arrows and still looks good. Like mentioned above it is hard to pull if not in the vital insert. I like having to really focus and make good shots on the small target.

Pretty dang small, but I guess that's the point.
Bulelk1's target looks like it coud be a Yo Buddy target.
Yes Sir---------> Yo Buddy
Good luck, Robb
You guys talked me into it!
He arrived yesterday
Thanks for the heads-up on the discount price off Camo-fire Nick.
Good luck, Robb
Out back in my shooting lane
Out back in my shooting lane
Should be 1/5 life size as here it is next to my lil River Buck target.
I thought I better get a pix before I shot my virgin first arrow at him-------->
Fun shooting,
Robb
I have the Rinehart. If you hit the kill zone its great. If you hit the other areas.....its hard (really hard) to remove the arrows.
True that WV
I find this one to work well though
Good luck, Robb
I have one, great little target for the money. As others have said, if you miss the insert, arrows can be difficult to remove. Other than that minor complaint, its great!
I might get one when my deer target wears out. I usually alternate bear/deer every other target. This will add some variety.
Just curious- do Rineharts last any longer than other 3 d targets?
I shoot approx. 25 - 30 3D shoots per year, they all wear about the same anymore.
Ok- thanks. The Rineharts seem a little more “rubbery”(is that a word? ;-) Thought they might stand up to the elements a little better.
