I’m about to buy a spotter. Looking for a single spotting scope purchase, because I don’t have the budget to buy two for different contexts (backpacking and viewing less than a mile vs. a full 80mm kinda setup).
I know there are other considerations in this (eye relief, etc.).
I just don’t want to buy the more compact option(s) and feel underpowered.
Options: 1) Buy Maven 25-50x80 64 oz $2,100
2) Kowa 15-45x55 28 oz $1,700
3) Maven S.2 12-27x56 ——> plus additional eyepiece that acts as doubler 34 oz plus eyepiece $950 plus magnifier eyepiece $200

For similar money you could get a swarovski 20-65x65 it between the 55 and 80.
