Hey guys! I'm just wrapping up the purchase of an outfitters business here in Colorado. Its literally my back yard and where my wife and I grew up. I tried to buy this business 9 years ago but it wasn't the right time. For it to come back to me is a true blessing. We will keep the DBA Shaded Timber Outfitters name this year at least. We will be hunting units 33 and 34. I would like to focus on Archery hunts mostly. For that reason I'm offering discounted prices for Bowsite. OTC hunts in 34 will be 2500$ Any one who drew a 33 Archery tag please contact me. We will be doing things differently. Progression hunts, spike camps out of already remote tent camps, different things to leave the public behind. Our horse camps in 33 are the best hunting in that unit hands down. Please ask questions so I can explain more. Elk will die!
That's great, Forest! Takes a bowhunter to know how to run hunts for bowhunters. How many days for each hunt? Will you offer unguided drop camps too?
Good Luck with the venture! Sounds exciting.
What kind of bowhunter success rates did the previous owners have?
Congrats! Good luck with the new venture. Great country up there.
Hunt will be 1day in 5 hunt days 1 day out. Camps are remote. Most of the time there should be a chance for a pm hunt on the in day. Shot opportunity is near 100% in all seasons.
100% shoot opportunity in archery season for a legal bull on public land in 5 days of hunting? That is VERY impressive.
Congrats Forest! I'm excited for you.
I'm so looking forward too it..
John, If you book a hunt ill guarantee you a shot opportunity or ill give you your money back.
Empty Freezer is booked and is going to have to change his handle. Is Medium rare taken?
Good luck with it Forestbows!
Kelly and I got up 10,000 feet yesterday. Took a pack horse to clean up some trash we found the weekend before.
Forrest, that sounds awesome! I have plans of my own but it’s hard to beat that kind of guarantee and a back country hunt in the Rockies. Take that all day over a ranch hunt! Looking forward to hearing the results from this season.
Best of luck to you. Beautiful country. I'm also wondering if you are considering any drop camps.
Go get 'em Empty! Look forward to the stories this Jan.
That’s awesome Forest!! Congrats!!
Good luck Forest
How hard are those units to draw or are Lic. OTC?
Are you hunting any private ranches in those units?
Are you just doing archery hunts or muzzy / rifle hunts too
Is fishing streams or high country ponds?
Is that Budges old Place?
Sweet access for sure
Good luck, Robb
Wishing you the best in this endeavor. Sure is some beautiful country.
Happy for you guys Forest. Kind of a dream for you I would guess. I backpackerd with my wife and 9 year old son in there years ago for camping and fishing and hunted it a couple times. Loved it there. Good luck!
I will change my handle for sure.. That will be a Happy Day.
Congrats on your purchase.
How many points does it take to draw unit 34?
Congrats on buying the outfit. If you have private land to hunt I will be talking with you in the future. Good luck this season!
How many points does it take to draw unit 34?

Guaranteeing a shot opportunity or give your money back. Now that is putting your money we’re you mouth is! Good luck hope you have tons of success!
My best to both of you in your new adventure. Paul

Is any portion of the Flat Tops Wilderness area in unit 33 or 34?
That's awesome, Forest. Most of my elk have been taken in the Flattops Wilderness!
Very cool. I like the sounds of it and what you're up to. Wish you the best!
Looks great, what are the elevations in the hunt areas?
Very cool, I would be interested in 2021 or 22. I would like to take my wife on her first elk hunt.
I like the the look of your tracker Forest but the packer might need to bulk up a little bit.
Oh hell ya, look at that attitude.. Thats a damn gangsta..
That is cool Forest I'm jealous.
Will you personally be guiding all of your hunters? Next year will you provide a reference list of all your 2020 clients? ;)
Good luck on your venture.
no way I could guide everyone, but I will guide as many as I can. I have all the references anyone would need now. If ya want to kill a elk Chad give me a call.
Best of luck Forest. Looks like beautiful country.
Congratulations, Forest. Best of luck this season.
So awesome, congrats Forest!!
I have the ability to do some summer stuff as well. Fishing Camping Horse back trips etc. I would give anyone that wanted to come to the mountains this summer a great deal. Bring the family.
I may have to come in there and join you. Sounds like a good spot!
Few things on this earth make me happier than seeing a man's hard worked for ambitions come to fruition. Congratulations.
can you take me fishing in the high country
would love to fish the high country
CONGRATS on the new business opportunity! Definitely a WIN-WIN for the Bowsite community! I'll have to give this some thought as I will need to plan a retirement gift to myself in the next 5 years hopefully. ;-)
After emails and a phone call with Forest, I’m booking for 2021. Really looking forward to it. Best of luck with this new venture Forest, look forward to meeting you and the crew.
Best wishes on your new venture Forest
I need guys to go here with me !
Congrats Forest! Wishing you the best. I may have to sign up one day when I finally decide to kill an elk instead of just chase them. I know that spot and I've been above it on the far end of 10 mile. Amazing country. I always have had shot opportunities out there....maybe one year not. Did you find and hold my kelty frame pack when I left it out there at a camp off coffee pot?
Here is my buddy's bull from 34 last September. I missed one this size or larger 15 minutes later. We were 150 yards or less apart in the timber. Best morning hunt ever.
What a cool, big deal Forrest! Looks like you’re in a beautiful area!
My hat's off to you for fulfilling a lifelong dream. I hope that one day soon I can hunt that country with you!
I would love to take any of you guys. That's a good average representation of the bulls in the area. Some bigger some smaller.
4 spots left for 34. You guys are awesome. Really appreciate the support.
Going to check this out tomorrow
Once you see that country you will never stop wanting to go back. Best of luck in your new venture and I’m going to watch this one ....
Dang Forest, you are making this a long 3 months.. I am ready now.
Bring your wife out for a camping trip Dave
HaHa.. You funny.. If there aint a TV and an AC unit she wont be there.. Maybe if you got a makeup room in that big tent.. HaHa u funny..
My camp last weekend of archery 2016
My camp last weekend of archery 2016
Just looked at 2020 stats, residents 99% drew the archery tag for 33 with zero points, 92% of non-res drew this tag with 1 point........fwiw 34 is OTC so you gotta pick one or the other.
Bow site is so Awesome! I'm sold out on guided archery hunts for this year, and have booked a few for next year. Thanks so much. You guys are the best! I have a few drop camp spots left, and would love to take some guys fishing this summer.
That’s great to hear Forest! I know they will have a good time hunting with you. I hope your venture is a successful and fulfilling one.
Congratulations Forest! Great news! I know you will have a great fall!
Will be talking to you about a trip this summer for some fishing and to see your side of the hills:-)
We're hunting with you in unit 34, what elevations will we be hunting at?
Thanks in advance.
Hey i would lov to go fishing
Yes. Around 9500 to 11. Putting camps together today.
Backpack camp. Kufaru 8man
Thats some rough nasty country! But is beautiful. Hunted it with EMG for 8 days in 2013. Saw plenty of elk, and bears. Messed up a couple opportunities at bulls and cows.
