Nice bears and video. Sorry I couldn't share a camp with you last week. Was hoping for the 3 legged bear to come in the last day last year at the last 30 minutes of light, but only a little guy came in. Next year!
Great video, as usual! Monster bears as well. Congrats to Carcus and Noah!
In the video, it was stated something about Noah’s shot being possibly a little far back. His shot looked good to me (but I am a total novice when it comes to shot placement on bears) My question is, was Noah’s hit a little bit back, or was it where it needed to be? I’m, hopefully going to be headed up to Ontario for bear this fall if they reopen the border, so any info is appreciated.
Thanks for all the supportive comments. It's great to see some of you here that I have met in person.
t-roy, the shot on video looks better than what it was. It was far back, if you notice the offside leg is further forward, which IMO brings the offside vitals further away. In a situation like this I would recommend tucking it right behind the shoulder. I hope this helps, this has just been my own observations on shots that I've made that I thought were good, but the bear was actually "twisted."
Another great video David. Congrats to Noah and Carcus. If not for the virus, I would have been leaving tomorrow nite for a hunt starting Sunday with Stickflingers. Next year will be even sweeter now.
Two 21" skulls in one night!! You guys have giant bears and you know how to kill them! Congrats to Jason and especialy Noah. Its great you have the skill and take the time to take us along.
Two in one night and I want just one in a lifetime. You're doing it right!!
Thanks guys, it's getting closer. Noah might not be able to hunt bears this spring since he broke his arm last week. So, worst case scenario he will be hunting during the fall season.
If he's out for this spring Donna will try her hand at spring bear for the first time.
Congratulations on two great bears! Enjoyed the video. What do you poor on the corn David? Don't worry about it if it's an old family secret, don't want to worry about disappearing after you've told me!!
Great video and awesome bears. Love bear hunting in Manitoba......been to the NE side of Riding Mountain near St. Rose de Lac four times. Never had a dull moment there.
Greg we pour old fryer grease on the corn, it works but can be messy. No family secret there, I like to keep it simple and focus on location more than type of bait.
