It’s that time of year when I’m starting to get serious about scouting - looking at maps, On-X, google Earth, and getting up into the high country to look at new areas and hang cameras. Let’s see some of your favorite trail cam photos from years past, to help motivate all of our scouting efforts. Here are a few of mine...

I've been running cams for a couple month already. This is one of my favorites. No big bulls, but fun to see them in their bachelor groups.

My 16 year old shouldered this bull. He jumped on private and the LO wouldn't let us in ( of course) he issued a LO tag to his grandson who killed him with the rifle later .

This is one of my favorites from 2 years ago. Hunting partner and I walked to this wallow and missed this bull and cows by about 5 minutes. I'm sure they heard us coming and walked off. Around noon, 80 degrees, not being quiet at all. It taught me to never give up and go back to camp after the morning hunt. I didn't even have my bow at the time because I fully expected it to be too late in the morning and too hot for elk to still be moving. I planned on just grabbing the SD card and heading to camp for lunch. We had no idea until we got back to camp and saw the pics.

I aint far from putting up cams and getting some more new ones......and I hope to snag a few with my Canon 90D I bought this year just for this purpose. I swear I have as much, if not more fun, pre-season getting pics as I do during season not killing elk!
