Need my bow restringed this year so figured why not a new sight(still a stock bow from when I bought it... Bear Encounter)
Found a fixed pin sight with great reviews, and than found it on ebay for a really good deal, still in package brand new. About 40% off retail price. Seller has 32,000 positive reviews so seems legit. Any experience buying bow stuff off ebay?

I’ve bought plenty, but buyer beware. Does it ship from China?

I’ve purchased tons of archery stuff from eBay. Like mentioned above, make sure it’s coming from the USA. It’s a good resource for archery.

If the feedback is good that’s a start. The other thing I’ll often do is check the seller info and see where he’s located. If it’s someone in China then obviously run away.

If it ships from China it’s probably a knock off. Google the original manufacturer to see if it’s made in China. If so it’s probably legit

I buy and sell most of my archery stuff on Archery Talk, Bowsite, African Hunting and Texas Bowhunter. I’m dealing with bowhunters, not some Chinese knock-off outlet.

I buy and sell plenty on eBay without issue. However, this pandemic crap has pretty much shut down all overseas shipping, at least in my experience, especially from Asian countries. I made a purchase shipping from Singapore right when this whole thing started and have yet to receive it 3 months later. I’m only purchasing strictly state side.

Beware of China, I ordered something from China and the person sent me the wrong item. Paid through PayPal who say they have payment protection. They played me for months and then dismissed my case. Never received the item.

If you get anything from China on EBay....just make sure it is shipped using the express pack. That will get it to you faster. I just got some blade baits last week and they came fairly quick....maybe two weeks. Alot of sellers will get stuff from China and resell it in the states on EBay. You think you're getting something from the US when in reality it's just a middle man reselling his ChiComm stuff. There is some real good stuff that does come from there. I got two rechargeable, machined aluminum 27,000 or 30,000 something lumens LED lights that will light up the sky. They work great for seeing a blood trail in low light.

Often when they have 10's of thousands of reviews, they're selling something cheaply produced, especially if they only sell a relatively limited number of items. You can always contact the manufacturer and ask if that seller on ebay is an authorized retailer. I've done that before, and sometimes they are.

I would recommend telling your bow shop what you found and ask if they could meet you half way on price. When you buy from ebay, This is what puts us out of business. Im referring to volume ebay dealers. Give us a chance. If we say no at least we had a chance and you did the right thing. Thanks for your consideration. Gary

Plenty of legit sellers on EBay that are selling the real thing at a better price than brick and mortar.

But the eBay guys can’t help you when you have a problem. Or when you want to hold the items in your hands and ask questions. Please...support your local reputable bow shop. If you don’t have a good local shop? Then eBay till the cows come home.

Thanks John for the comment to support your local archery shop. It may cost a bit more but I doubt it makes much harm to anyone in the long term. It does help preserve an environment we all want and need.

There's quite alot of name brand products for sale on EBay that are sold by pro shops or other outdoor retailers. If a bow shop does not sell on EBay, I'd ask why not?

Plenty of reputable archery shops also sell stuff on eBay, I worked at a fly shop for a while and we did it all the time as well. Just don't buy from a seller who is actually IN China...that's asking for trouble

Sometimes knock off Chinese stuff is all you need. Sometimes you need stuff that is the real deal.
