Has anyone heard anything about the border in Ca.?

From: JB
22-Jun-20
Closed until at least July 21st.

23-Jun-20
From the looks of it Sounds like there is no plan to open it anytime soon. The canadiens don't want it open. I don't think fall hunting by Americans will have any political motivation either....

From: South Farm
23-Jun-20
Strange, many outfits I've talked to in Ontario are dying for it to open.

From: Moosemania
23-Jun-20
Yeah the outfitters and lodges are desperate for it to open. Unfortunately Trudeau couldn't care less if a large portion of them go under. It's time to realize we are all going to have to figure out how to deal with the virus and open things up. Its not going away and its everywhere not just in the U.S.

From: LKH
23-Jun-20
Hell, would you open it if you were Canada? We have the highest numbers in the world and aren't doing anything to slow it down. After all, we're Americans and are "entitled".

I know wearing a mask is forbidden for Trump supporters, but they should consider that nothing gives them the right to be cavalier about other people's health.

Even Canada does not mandate masks and I'll be shocked if we ever do so.

Have a NF moose hunt for 27 Sep - 04 Oct and doubt we will be able to go.

^....."I know wearing a mask is forbidden for Trump supporters, but they should consider that nothing gives them the right to be cavalier about other people's health."

24-Jun-20
I deal with Covid stuff all the time with the guides association. I am still hopeful for a fall opening, but with recent spikes in many states I am now having my doubts. Our loser Prime Minister will keep the borders call an election for this fall and win a majority just from "saving Canadians from Covid"

From: Rackmastr
24-Jun-20
Agreed Doug....I dont see a border opening to non-essential travel until the fall at earliest. With recent spikes, pressure from Premiers and JT's comments as of late, I dont see it happening any time soon. Who knows though, this whole thing has been an evolving 'guess' as it happens

From: Rut Nut
24-Jun-20
LKH- most of the NorthEast has been mandating masks in public for months! Most of PA is now in the GREEN phase which lifts a lot of restrictions, but masks are STILL mandatory! Same with NY and NJ. So if you want to enter ANY business, you must wear a mask. Most businesses have a sign posted at the door that says NO MASK, NO ENTRY! or something similar.

From: LKH
24-Jun-20
Rut Nut, glad to hear it. Wife has made and donated about 300 masks so far but here in MT most people don't wear them. With our climbing numbers that may change. It's about the only thing we can do until we, hopefully, get a vaccine.

From: South Farm
24-Jun-20
God those walleyes gotta be getting damn hungry up there by now!

24-Jun-20
The big problem is that neither country has a comprehensive plan going forward! Waiting for a half effective flu vaccine that may be made in the next year or two while we hide behind masks and closed borders while our economy crumbles is not a plan. It has no logical conclusion or timeline. Testing and tracing is also complete bull with widespread community transmission on the unstoppable go.

Living with this new flu risk, allowing the spread amongst healthy people while they get back to work, opening the economy and borders, and putting government money into protecting the vulnerable is a plan. We will be headed toward herd immunity and maybe a vaccine will come along that will help that out. Sweden is literally the only country in the world with an actual plan.

New regulations for Ontario hunting outfitters state that when animals are retrieved, hunters and guides must wear face masks and gloves. No joke!! Cabins cannot be cleaned the same day of departure for safety of cleaners. Its totally ridiculous!! 2 days ago Trudope said he was in no hurry to open the border... Ford extended state of emergency in Ontario again today. Eastern and Southern Ontario is ruining it for all in Canada. Ontario has the highest rate of infections now.

July 31rst will be when the decision will be made by us at Pine Acres, on the 2 weeks of August dates... hunt for August is a go at this point. We will announce at end of July. For Spring 2020 hunters moved to Fall 2020, pic a date in Spring **2022** as your alternate if booked for August 15th or 23rd 2020. Hunters who originally booked a Fall 2020 date, can get same dates for Fall 2021. Sorry, but out of our control!! No tags available for 2021 Spring, Bear tags are all taken for Spring 2021. The extra tags we did have for spring 2021 were taken by booked hunters in the health care system that could not change their dates for a fall hunt this year.

*** On the bright side... I am seeing bears running around everywhere!!

From: JL
25-Jun-20
Spike....that sucks. If they get desperate....could the Ministry could pull your tags to prevent you from bringing in hunters?

From: spike buck
25-Jun-20
There has been no one in the issuing office. Tags were ready to go back in May but no one's in the office to hand them out. Outfitters will still have to pay for BMA's hunt or not. But hopefully things will all work out.

From: SteveBNY
25-Jun-20
"STILL mandatory! Same with NY and NJ. So if you want to enter ANY business, you must wear a mask."

Not true. Many businesses leave it entirely up to the customer. It is a recommendation - not a law or "mandatory".

From: steff
25-Jun-20
With the recent spike in cases in US, and EU considering a travel ban, not looking good. My BC moose hunt looking more like '21. Have to wait and see.

From: njbuck

I have a bad feeling all fall hunts are going to get canceled.

From: t-roy
25-Jun-20
Thanks for the update, spike buck. Not sounding too good, but fingers are still crossed for our August hunt!

From: Ziek
25-Jun-20
"It is a recommendation - not a law or "mandatory"."

And therein lies the problem. People are too stupid to even do what's in THEIR best interest. Wearing a mask indoors or in crowded areas is a minuscule price to pay to help keep this tamped down. Until EVERYONE takes this seriously, NO ONE will be allowed to travel unimpeded as they wish. You can either do the mature thing, and take every precaution as we try to get back to some semblance of "normalcy", or you can act like Trump, and just declare it over because you have a very limited attention span and are weary of it.

From: JB
25-Jun-20
Pretty harsh Ziek. We live in a country where we have some freedom of choice. People aren’t forced to do vaccinations, it’s their choice. The list goes on. You may think everyone should wear a mask, but that’s your choice. One day I read that a mask is the answer. The next day I read that they really don’t help. Which one do I choose?

From: bowbender77
25-Jun-20
Just more TDS.

From: Ziek
25-Jun-20
Yes, it's your choice, but then don't complain about the restrictions that largely result from making the wrong choice. It's been shown that wearing a mask protects others as much or more than the wearer, and it DOES make a difference. So you can be part of the solution, or part of the problem. Either way, your best chance to hunt this fall depends on where we are with the virus.

"One day I read that a mask is the answer. The next day I read that they really don’t help. Which one do I choose?" Do the opposite of whatever Trump says.

From: Screwball
25-Jun-20
Sick people should be quarantined not healthy. We do have choices in our country. If you are not comfortable with me not wearing a mask stay home. My choice is my freedom. You have a choice as well.

From: Grey Ghost
25-Jun-20
When your "choice" puts others at risk, then your freedom becomes their repression.

Matt

25-Jun-20
Ziek you write that "its been shown that wearing a mask....does make a difference" that's one view. I have seen plenty more where medical professionals say it makes it worse due to how much touching ppl do to the mask and ultimate spread it more. Just because you have one opinion doesn't make it the "right" opinion necessarily. I love the argument that it's such a minor inconvenience how can you not. Same argument they used for the initial quarantine. If you don't then you are killing people and have blood on your hands, you only are minority inconvenienced having to stay home. They keep using the argument to take away your freedoms and in my estimation our constitutional rights.

From: JB
25-Jun-20
I have relatives in the medical profession that tell me that mask wearing isn’t the answer. Unless you are wearing the N95s, its useless. Most masks are barely slowing things down. And then we have to consider proper mask usage. How many people are using the same mask over and over thus contaminating the mask and their hands. It’s like putting a bandaid on instead of a tourniquet.

Thanks for that bit of wisdom Matt. The State of MN has done enough repression based on computer models and a one size fits all plan. Not thinking I am too big of a problem.

From: Moosemania
25-Jun-20
Unfortunately that is exactly how they spin it grey ghost. Your choice to drive to work puts others on the road at risk. Stop being selfish and stay off the road. Everything we do puts others at risk. Life has risk. Stop spouting off how not wearing a mask puts others at risk. If you want safety by all means lock yourself up in your own house.

25-Jun-20

From: badlander

If you think that wearing masks is the cure for COVID, you're kidding yourself. WHO back pedaled a little bit on their statement that asymptomatic people don't spread as being premature, but they still say asymptomatic people are unlikely to spread...

New cases are on the rise, but I have not seen a chart of the # of tests being given to achieve those new cases. I assume the number of tests being conducted continues to rise as well. IF we test 1000 people this week and find 50 cases, and 1500 people next week and get 60 cases, that's an increase in "new cases" but at a lower "rate" per test than before. If those people we're testing and getting positives for are largely asymptomatic, who cares? Chances are, we have been infected at a higher rate all along and people were never tested. Most of these asymptomatic tests are due to contact tracing individuals who were exposed to someone with a confirmed case, not because they had symptoms and got tested. Follow the death rates, that has been falling consistently for a while now. More cases, less deaths. If we were still only testing symptomatic people like we were 60 days ago the narrative would be different.

People squawking about masks or travel or.... are kidding themselves and looking for someone to blame. Sit down Karen, some of us have work to do and lives to live?!

From: Scoot
25-Jun-20
"Sit down Karen, some of us have work to do and lives to live?!"

Haha, badlander thanks for a "Karen" reference! Given that these are males, I'd prefer it if you said "Sit down Todd, some of us have work to do and lives to live?!" KFAN listeners will understand where that came from.

Oh, and terribly sorry to all of the Karen and Todds of the world... :)

From: badlander
25-Jun-20

Well, for what it's worth (very little)....I think we accomplished what we set out to do already and that was to flatten the curve. Now it's time to "rip the band-aid off" and let it move through society. If it is truly as contagious as they tell us, there will be no avoiding exposure and eventually we all will have to deal with it at one level or another. Some things just aren't worth the trade-off. So..... let's roll! And this is from a 65 year old diabetic!

From: APauls
25-Jun-20
Other than the extreme few members of society in Canada that are business owners dependent upon US $ for revenue - EVERYONE else wants the borders to stay closed. Remember this - Canada is more socialist and left leaning than the US. Most people here are extremely happy to live on government subsidies, and leave the risk elsewhere. Government deficits mean nothing. What does it matter?

Picture a parent/child relationship where the parents listen to whatever the children want them to do, with zero education of the ramifications. That's our country right now.

I heard a funny quote one day: "Picture how dumb the average person is. And now realize that half the people are dumber than that."

From: Screwball
25-Jun-20
Every rule every law restricts Americans freedoms. People just don't get it. If you wish to live in fear that is your choice. There is risk in everything you do. Almost got wrecked twice today over in Minneapolis area. My choice to be here and drive. You make the choice to go out and interact or not. You don't like me exercising my freedom stay away. Every new law to keep us "safe" is a restriction. Geez open your eyes. Government overreach. You want big brother go for it not me or mine.

Texas just went back into lockdown mode.... Abbott just announced.

Now, call me racist but.... in Toronto ( Windsor now the Hotspot) and many other Eastern and Southern Ontario and Quebec Cities, there are HUGE families living under one roof. They come from countries where that's how they live. Produces a COVID nightmare under those roofs these new Canadians live under. We are suffering because Trudope just kept on bringing in the so called Canadians from abroad as this Covid was developing. Trudeau is at fault... no one else in my mind. He is still allowing it at this time.

Maybe this post will be deleted... but that's what I think!!

I don’t know that I am informed enough to enter a debate on mask usage. I do wonder if they don’t work, then why do surgeons wear them?

If it is good enough for them it is good enough for me.

BTW, I am at the Atlanta airport. Two guys just left the men’s room without washing their hands. Ughhhhh.

BORDER OPENING DATE?! That’s the thread title. Can we cut the political stuff? Can anyone here say what needs to be OBJECTIVELY MEASURED to say that it’s safe to open the borders?! The measurement used to be we need to FLATTEN THE CURVE to NOT OVERWHELM OUR HOSPITALS. That has been achieved. Now what’s the marker? What is it?!

If no one here knows then we are all as dumb as our politicians with no end in sight for the borders to open!

From: JB
25-Jun-20
Hey Mike. I wish we could! I feel for you guys. I had to cancel a fly in fishing trip that we have done for years. I can always do another trip, but the outfitter is the one truly suffering. Hope the Canadian gov is helping you guys out!!

From: spike buck
25-Jun-20
The marker will be when Outfitters stop to think how they can safely open our borders for our customers. Outfitters here are putting our heads together on how to "Safely" open the border. Many great ideas. Our organization is constantly talking to our MP's and MPP's on the border.

I suggest Outfitters across Canada have a plan as the Border closure possibly will be here for quite awhile. I heard till end of year...

From: Screwball
25-Jun-20
Until you are exposed to it there is no cure, etc. A vaccine is not a cure as with influenza. This virus is closer to pertussis then influenza. It not a matter of if but when. Open the border.

From: spike buck
25-Jun-20
Trudeau acts like he is the sheep dog watching over his flock. He said today, business comes second to the health of Canada's citizens. He will not open the border till its safe to open. Unfortunately, he is the deciding factor. He is NOT in a hurry!!

25-Jun-20
The plan should be to open the border immediately because the only measurable goal has been achieved. The rest is smoke and mirrors. It will be no different today than a month from now or 6 months from now or maybe a year or more. The only next measurable goal is how much economic pain Canada can suffer through before they are forced to just let us get used to this new risk in life.

26-Jun-20
Totally agree Mike

26-Jun-20
Whoops sorry for the multi posts. The problem is the goal posts is constantly moving for the decision makers. Whether its deciding what does stay open or stay closed. How many cases and at what rate they are increasing/ decreasing. Feels like blind politicians playing darts

26-Jun-20
The best way is to have hunters bring a recent negative c-19 test to cross the border. Then they can "isolate" while hunting and test on the way out, as well as the guide/outfitter they came in contact with. That would catch anyone who contracted c-19 in transit. healthcare workers are regularly tested weekly in high infection areas. Just apply it to the rest of the job sectors.

Open the Border up.... Outfitters can bring up Americans into their camps and keep them isolated. The Ontario government and the media are scare mongers and I see many Ontarioan's are falling for their tactics and want it closed!! Those Eastern and Southern Ontario Folks who are SCARED can stay in their cocoon till its over LOL

My clients will have absolutely "NO" outside contact once they arrive in camp. Our Outfitter organization have it figured out!!

For example:

** hunters buy their hunting and fishing licenses from their home before they leave to Canada.

**Hunters bring groceries into Canada. Allowed 3 days worth each.

** When clients leave their camps, go straight to the bear baits. Travel only to Outfitters BMA's or lakes they are going to fish. Many fishing camps are on lakes so no problem for them.

** Outfitters now can take the temperature of all arriving into camp.

** Hunters have a receipt and proof of their stay at a camp. Fined if they stray away from where they are suppose to be.

**If hunters or fishers need something while in camp, outfitters can get it delivered by an outside business. Contactless. Such as groceries or beer , miinows etc.

** stay your distance while in camps.

Many come to Canada to fish and hunt in peace.... What I have planned will do just that..... thanks to our Outfitters Organization it will work!!! It is already where Outfitters are dealing with Residents.

***At Pine Acres Camp, we have 2 entrances or exits.... I will shut the gates that go directly into the town of Vermilion Bay and open the gate out to the highway. Town folk wont even know my hunters are here. But they will eventually realise the gate is closed into town when the businesses have no AMERICAN DOLLARS in their till this year!!!

Scumfrog, let us get back to business. Scumfrog, what will be your feeling when your tax dollars are going to be used to bail out the outfitters you want to keep closed!!! I got word yesterday OMNRF will be coming out with a plan in the next couple of days. Thanks for your hard earned dollars!!!

With the way the virus is taking off again, I doubt they'll open the border without a confirmation test that travelers are Covid negative at the border. And with that, a plan for what to do if one of a group is positive. Just sending them back across the states to home, spreading the virus as they go, doesn't seem like a good idea. Escort to a mandatory quarantine site? At who's expense?

When the parties in Canada, NDP or Conservatives, don't like something the sitting government did or is about to do, they will take a vote of non confidence against the sitting government. If the vote tips against the government, an election is called. A vote of non confidence can only happen if the sitting government has a minority government.

Matt, I have never had a Resident Bear hunter in camp. 100% us clients. So, we are dependant on Americans. I guess you can also say, the locals here are too.

26-Jun-20
Yes Canada is very dependent on the USA for tourism, in fact Tourism is one of the top industries in Canada for its whole economy. Non resident hunting is a small part of that but a closed border hurts all Canadians and it hurts the Americans who love to come here! There are also regions of the USA that rely heavily on Canadian snowbird tourism and investment. The border needs to open NOW simply because there will be no difference now than 6 months from now, why wait?! Seriously can anyone explain the reason to wait or what “safe” from the virus even means?!

26-Jun-20
Mike,

I am not saying we should keep the border closed, but I am convinced this is about buying more time now for a vaccine to make it to the market. Buy time, reduce deaths, maybe some really think this is the moral approach.

Nah, just kidding, it's about getting rid of Trump and government's worldwide taking complete control over our lives and this is the first step to break us in;-)

Mike.....I see ALOT of Canadian license plates in the Daytona area while we're snowbirding for a few months. Alot of Quebec license plates show up down there when it snows up north. I think that Canada should keep the border closed but the U.S.A. should open their side so I can go to Montana and Nebraska this fall lol A vote of non-confidence does not always end in an election and if it does many times the turfed party comes back with a majority like what happened to JT's old man and to Harper so be careful with that ! Plus I have a hard time agreeing with much spike buck has to say on this anyway . I know you are hurting as many are but trying to blame other parts of your province all the time is getting old ! Last time I checked most outfits want to charge me in U.S. funds to hunt in my own country also so I will never hunt with one !!

From: spike buck
27-Jun-20
Timbrhuntr ( Mr Bailey), of Windsor, of course you don't agree with me. Your a resident. You live and work where Covi19 is festering ( Windsor Area). You are suffering with a major outbreak and you want the rest of the country to suffer along with you. Wear your mask and stay in your little cocoon.

My bear hunts are, say $1550.00 USDa resident can hunt if he pays 2100.00 CAD. The cost of a hunt is actually $2100.00 CAD but when he pays in USD he gets the American hunter a discount.

Besides Timbrhunter TE Bailey, you are waaaaay too much of a whiner to come to my camp!! I had a group of residents. just like you in camp for deer season a few years back. All guys like you do is bitch about Americans shooting all the big buck. But in reality, guys like you don't know how to hunt like the real hunters. Mr. Bailey of Windsor Ontario, the Covid hotspot of Canada, you hate Americans and just plain don't want them here!! But yet, you have a family member working in America, making USD. You hypocrite...

27-Jun-20
Spike, if I live through Covid and the nasty personal health problem I am facing, I will gladly engage your services for a deer hunt in the coming future. Not much fun going on in either country right now. Just try to stay in business! 29-Jun-20
I see in the news now that some countries are allowing people to enter, and not do a 14 day quarantine, with a recent negative Covid test. Not one done at the airport but one done within 24 hrs. Hawaii is considering it. While not perfect this would certainly be a reasonable solution to a “safe” reopening I would think?

Agreed Mike. There are ways to do this and keep folks moving. A one size fits all shut down is not good for anyone, hopefully that is obvious by now. People can make their own choice and stay home if they are afraid of getting sick or have other health issues. There needs to be some common sense. These little dictators like fauci and cuomo and the like are really getting off on this. They are sick. Fauci says there's a large group of people that don't believe in science......Hmmm....wonder why? Half of what they have told us has been wrong!!! Skull, there have been 2,847,762 reported cases in total in the USA since keeping track back in January. Many of those reported cases since January have been resolved. 864,762 covid cases have been resolved and 131,509 deaths. Leaving 1,851,198 active cases.

I did see that USA did add 105,628 new cases Thursday and 1362 deaths.

For instance, W. Virginia has had 3077 confirmed cases since tracking began. Out of the 3077 confirmed cases there are 2385 recoveries. Your only looking at the confirmed but choose not to be looking at how many have recovered. So, that means there are only a little over 700 active cases in W. Virginia. I did not figure in the deaths due to covid.

Is there anyway a quarantine hunt could be created? A hunter(s) come up, isolated for two weeks in the bush, then does the hunt, then goes back home? The hunters would need a place to hole up for the 14 days. If an outfitter had numerous camps the hunters could stay at for 14 days and then do the hunt....would that work? The hunters would have to be self-sufficient with food and supplies to get thru the 2 plus weeks. At least the outfitters would have some business moving thru vs nothing. Some guys might like being holed up in the bush for that long....those would be your target customers.

After filling out all of the paperwork the line was moving so slowly that they decided the wait was too long, so they left (without getting tested). A few days Later they got contacted with their “results “. One positive one negative.

All kinds of inconsistencies in the numbers of cases, numbers of deaths etc.

We are being lied to, the reasons aren’t too tough to figure out ... continuing problems with the virus increase Trump’s chances of losing.

Why are they suddenly reporting Only on total cases? What happened to the earlier metrics?

Once there is a vaccine available watch how fast they tell us masks weren’t So effective after all.

Cuomo killed thousands!! Are you kidding me Rodb? How come no one remembers this??? Cuomo literally begged and whined for more ventilators. He blamed trump for not getting him enough of them! All he did was bitch and moan about not having enough ventilators. A month later they decided the ventilators were literally killing people. His arrogance and Ignorance cost many people their lives as it was a death sentence to go on a ventilator. This is a fact! They are now trying At all cost To avoid ventilators. Yet we had to sit there and listen to his bullshit day in and day out. How he knows what’s best, how people need to do what he says.....on and on. He is a venomous liar and will be held accountable for his actions when his time is done. I pity the people of New York except they got what they voted for. Disgusting and sad.

My moose bow hunt starts 10/1 Man I wish they’d do this as a rolling 2 months instead of month by month closure

My airline has cancelled my flight

It seems that the Canadian government makes the call about the15/16th each month. So Sept 15/16th I’ll find out if my hunt is on

I’m betting on it being closed and planning time in a Whitetail stand. I really can’t see it opening until there is a vaccine

If it’s on, I’ll have to figure out how to drive

Talking with a friend who lives near our place in Newfy last night, he told me that the Great Northern Peninsula had no Covid until tourists from other provinces came. They are talking province to province restrictions, like the state restrictions we have in Northern NH and Maine for lodging. So far, no Covid here, but with the influx of New Yorkers and Mass people, it is inevitable. I have had two out of staters stop by my property trying to buy it. The one’s who manage to move up here will be gone once our 6 month long winter hits or they need a doctor and have to drive 35 miles. I did CPR on a heart attack victim for 2 hours waiting for transport two weeks ago. He was dead and when we finally were able to get the ME there so we could transport to a funeral home, 60 miles away, we had a hell of a time bagging him with rigor mortis setting in. City people have no idea what remote living means.

Canada-U.S. border closure extended again amid tension over restrictions Rachel Aiello Ottawa News Bureau Online Producer @rachaiello Contact

45K OTTAWA -- Canadian and U.S. officials have agreed to keep the border between the two countries closed to non-essential travel for another month. This comes as both countries are still working to stop the spread of COVID-19, and as tensions continue to flare between Canadians and prospective American visitors.

The current extension of the cross-border agreement expires on August 21, though as the spread of COVID-19 continues in both countries, the restrictions on recreational travel will remain in place until at least Sept. 21. The ban on discretionary travel was first introduced in March and has been extended each month since.

“We are extending the reciprocal restrictions at the Canada-US border for another 30 days, till Sept. 21, 2020. We will continue to do what’s necessary to keep our communities safe,” tweeted Public Safety Minister Bill Blair.

08-Sep-20
I think this year is shot, our politicians are using Canada's successes against Covid to try and win elections. The reason they only post border closures one month at a time is that "state of emergencies" are 30 days at a time. this is why there is a slow roll out of news around borders staying closed. State of emergencies allow them to close borders and push us around.

Gotta agree with woodguy65, what does a decline in cases as a measurement of safety even mean? Test less and you’ll get less cases, like Canada does. So stupid and so are lockdowns.

USA, 6,918,704 cases with 203,073 deaths for a 2.94% death rate.

Canada, 141,566 cases with 9,201 deaths for a 6.5% death rate.

And Canadians think we are doing so much better with a lower case rate.

Anyway, back to hunting elk, it will open when it opens. I feel bad for anyone missing their Canadian hunt and for fellow Canadian outfitters!

I really don't expect borders opening until spring at the earliest. Perhaps even after bear season. Our current government doesn't seem to really give a rats ass about small tourism businesses. Many of us Canadian outfitters are hurting and many won't open again once the borders do open. Disgusting display of social experimentation from Trudeau and company. IMO

On another note I did get to hunt for myself and took this beauty moose. First time I have been able to hunt myself during the rut.

I read this in the FNC article above......

""Canada, meanwhile, is dealing with a second wave that Trudeau called "really exhausting" on Wednesday.

The country reported 30,925 cases in the last two weeks, with 191,884 cases 9,709 deaths overall.""

It would seem JT has some splain'n to do with the border still being closed? The numbers show a current death rate of .05. The US shows up with a lower death rate at .027. IMO....if/when a successful vaccine comes to the market in the next few months, I can see the border opening then. I was at our local Walgreens yesterday and the pharmacist told me that they (Walgreens) already have the "vaccine" in their computer system so when an actual vaccine does hit the market, they can immediately start giving it.
