I did the same thing a few years back except just made the front half and it was a cow. I cut the kill zone half size at the heart area to force myself to aim tighter and paint everything the same color to force me to 'pick a spot'. Didn't see an elk.

I built one and traced it out onto two more sheets for when this one falls to pieces. That’s all I’m Shooting at until I leave for my elk hunt

Nice job but you need to make one without the white cutout part. That color change will naturally take your eye there for a shot. You need to practice the pick a spot routine on an animal as big as an elk. Don't hit that shoulder blade. Good luck to him, hope he enjoys Wyoming !
