531 of 834 for me. This is for the Elk Combination only so shorter list with fewer tags. My position is right in line with my luck in the rest of this year’s draws. Chance is between Slim and nine and Slim was just spotted riding over the horizon.

I got 111 on the Big Game Combination. I've never put in for alternates list before so I have no idea how many usually get sent back. I made calculations based on the 17000 cap for non-residents and came up with 7/10's of one percent would need to be returned for me to have a chance. I'm thinking with the plague going around it seems reasonable. Good luck

^...I too think that number (111) will get a phone call. Of course now that I say that, watch the FWP change things....which I know they did make some changes this year! It requires some flexibility as the call might come close to the opener.

The fat lady had to sit back down!! It ain't over yet! I feel bad for the folks who thought they were single digit numbers and made commitments. It's not happening for me....#1187. Good luck to everyone who applied. Next up is antelope OOA Aug 6th.

The Alternate’s List has been updated to correct a technical error with the initial posting of the list. The error was that the original list displayed the order that customers signed up instead of the randomized ordered list that was intended and required. The error occurred as a result of a brittle and antiquated licensing system. A new licensing system is underway and is slated to be operational for the 2022 license year. FWP apologizes for the confusion this has caused. ""

I live in MT and am glad I don’t have to deal, to much, with its train wreck of a drawing system! It’s way more complex and complicated than it needs to be! Good luck to those STILL waiting

Good luck JL ! They kicked me back to 238. It's always something with their drawings. I'm not sure how i'm going to work it with my job but given the chance the opportunity will present its self. I'll just see what happens next week i might get moved to the front of the line due to some quirk in the "antiquated system"

Asking around locally with some folks I know who applied (about 6)...us cellar dwellers stayed towards the middle to bottom. No one moved up to a competitive area. What's up with that??? I would have guessed one of them would have broke the 300 mark but it didn't happen. I wonder how many applied?
It seems every year the FWP draw system has some glitch in their process.

After the list was adjusted I ended up 320 out of 834 on the elk combo alternate list. Wrote this year off as my first non-big game hunting year since I was 22 (long time ago!). Got an email today stating I can purchase an elk combo license. I have no idea how this happened or when or if I can go but I’ll take it!

The most current info would be to call the MT license folks. I suspect the number changes daily as things change.
