Who’s using SlickTricks this year?
I am - 100gr ViperTricks
Shot them this year for the first time tonight. Got a little too close for comfort at 50 yards and shaved off a couple vanes.
Been happy with them since my first deer in 2005.
You know it! Been shooting slicks now for the last 5 years. Don’t see myself changing anytime soon unless the company takes a tumble in the wrong direction as far as quality goes.
Either Wicked Tricks or Viper Tricks....still debating...
I have used 100 and 125 magnums in the past, very gooD head. Using Iron Will these days.
I have a couple dozen Magunum 100’s in inventory!
Using the 150gr xbow slick tricks out my compound.
Going with the VT 125's this year for elk. Mags in the quiver, too.
Show everyone what the entry wounds look like Brad
125gr standard here. I'm hoping to put a 4th animal on the number one head (new blades, same point).
@Grubby.... “ Show everyone what the entry wounds look like Brad”
You mean this? Yeah, it Kinda looks like a SlickTrick entry hole.
Maybe I should do a Blood Trail Challenge
125 gr standards for anything bigger than caribou. With a VPA thrown in on occasion.
Never tried one on my hand but they can sure kill a blind.
Had cnelk been using a rage he would be looking for suggestions on the best mouth tab
Been using Slick Trick 100gr mags since 2007. This year I'm going with the Wicked Tricks. FMJ Injexion arrows with titanium outsert for a total of 470grs. Can't wait for Archery season here in Illinois.
Never a bad blood trail with the standards. Probably the sharpest replaceable bladed heads on the market.
This is a Wicked Trick entrance wound.
125gr magnums here - been using them for 12+/- years. I trust their performance. FMJs (500gr arrows).
ouch...that looks painful! the apple is sposed to be on your head, not in your hand.
RazorTricks here until i run out.
Been using tricks for years. Started using Viper Tricks since they came in the market. Great heads!
Been shooting them for about 11 years, no complaints! I prefer the 125 magnum out of my set-up.
Just about since they came out, standards for me and vipers for son. Constantly searching before that, won't change unless they do! Accurate, strong, good penetration and good blood trails!
I have a couple dozen Magunum 100’s in inventory!
My 3rd year for Viper 125s. Switched from the Magnums.
125 Vipers for me ... every year I think about trying something new, but if it ain’t broke ...
125 mags. Going to try them out of a very light weight bow.
Killed a bear this spring with standards. Won’t use them for moose nor elk.
Curious as to why cazador?
@DC,
I shoot an old slow bow, and I've seen where SlickTricks due to the steep angles don't always penetrate the way my other heads do.
Before anyone gets all bent out of shape, I think I've shot maybe 6-7 elk with them, countless deer and antelope and bears. They are great heads, but out of my bow, shooting 230ish FPS, they don't penetrate that great on big critters such as elk.
Magnums have more of a "blunt" angle compared to the standards. I've always preferred a steeper blade angle and smaller cut diameters because of that.
No issues with complete pass thru using standards in the past on elk.
Going to use 125 magnums this year
I like them a lot! They shoot great out of my bow and are very consistent.
100gr ViperTricks on the end of a 272-ish fps, 465gr Axis arrow.
125 standards are my go to anymore, though I have a few mags and razor tricks floating around as well
Viper tricks 125. Killed a bounch stuff in Africa & the USA. Thay are scary sharp. F-points & viper tricks hit in the same hole..
100 standards for me. Have been using them for years and have not found any reason to switch.
How did you stick one that deep in your hand? Was it a hold my beer and watch this?100 grain mags only way to go
I didn’t stick a BH in my hand. It just ‘looks’ like a SlickTrick entry. Lol!
That’s what happens when a breaker bar slips when removing a wheel.
For the past several years I’ve always had 3-4 125 Slick Trick Mags and 3-4 125 Rage Hypodermics in my 7 arrow quiver. I choose the arrow based on shot conditions and animal im after.
I am shooting 100 Vipertricks this year.
Still debating between Wicked Tricks and Viper Tricks this year.....
100 gr Viper tricks....fly like darts but better
Still sending 125 razor tricks down range after all these years. For the most part it's been pass-thru's and pile ups when I do my job.
75 yards tonight. Hitting right with field points.
100 grain standards for me on gold tip velocity arrows with 40 grains added point weight.
125 gr Vipers with an added 50 grain brass insert. Not much stops this setup with about 550 gr total weight
Viper 125s have been in my quiver the last 5 years and I can’t find a reason to change. 3 dead elk and a few whitetails. Pass through on 2 different elk at 50+. Love em!
Just ordered another pack of 125 viper tricks
Slick Trick Magnum 100's and Razor Trick 100's this year for me.....might toss an Exodus 100 or two in there as well......but the Tricks have never failed me!
80% of all my animals shot, were killed SlickTrick 125gr Magnums. I have about 8 different heads in my bow case, but I can't seem to get myself to shoot anything else. They fly great and I have the utmost confidence in them and only had one that broke 3 blades on a 400 pound European wildboars shield. They are easy to sharpen on a Lansky.
I shot a springbuck this season at 69 yards and recovered him 40 yards further. I also shot a blue wildebeest with a pass through and it only went 12 yards after the shot. The only problem for me is the lack of blood on the trial, but when you see them going down it isn't a problem.
125 Viper Trick here, they fly like darts and hit where my FP hit out to 80 yards
Some how I ended up with 4-125 VT feral. I don’t shoot 125. If someone wants them, send me your address and I’ll throw them in the mail to you.
Gone. Staying in Illinois.
Magnums for deer here in SC. Puts them down fast here in the swamp.
100 Standards for my last elk and again this year. Accurate at distance and excellent penetration
I have replaced my bow, arrows, release, and rest over the years, even my range finder and binos. Same 100 grain standard slick trick.
ST Magnum 125 gr on this year’s cow elk
ST Magnum 125 gr on this year’s cow elk
Being a Mech Eng/Machinist the Slick Trick lineup is the most accurate manufactured BH made. The concentricity, straightness is superb. When you start screwing on steel tips to an aluminum ferrule then adding collars all you get is a build up of unwanted tolerances. Resulting in a BH that has run-out and straightness issues. An off center BH will wobble like crazy when its spinning at 350 fps, Tricks never wobble.
My point is why use anything else, Slick Tricks are my favorite. Aluminum is made for Beer Cans, not broadheads.
California Black Bear (I use the 125 mags. for everything.
the 1 1/8 wide ST Magnums have worked nicely on hogs and deer. Always have 2 holes for better blood trails. My buddy uses the 1.25" wide GrizzTrick 2 broadheads, he get huge entry and exit holes.
The buck in the picture above this post was shot at 12 yards with a ST Magnum.
I shoot Tricks, but have been enamored with their "Raptor Tricks" for whitetails. Any of you guys (gals) used the Raptors? I bought a pack, and they are darts at 50, haven't shot further, just curious of real life experience.
Last Sunday my Vipertrick worked well on a Wyo cow elk with a slow 60# bow. She ran 40 yards, looked back and fell over in the sage.
125 VT Killed several deer, Kudu, zebra, gemsbok, impala, etc. Scarry sharp.
I have used the magnums for years. What are the real differences or advantages to using the Razor or GriZ trick over the Magnums?
100 grn ViperTrick
100 grn ViperTrick
SOLD Not sure if this I the place to put these, if not, I’ll delete. Getting rid of some broadheads. I have 100 grain ViperTricks. Three new in package, 12 that have been screwed in arrows and all have new blades, 2 that I call practice heads and one without blades.
I’d take $125 for all, shipped, F&F. SOLD
Worked well so far this season
2020 elk Slicktrick 100gr 1 and 1/8 Inch
My 11 year old daughter sent a slick trick magnum through a doe yesterday evening. I could see blood gushing as the doe turned to run and there was a 100 yard trail that was one of the best I’ve seen, even with just one hole and an arrow plugging it.
100 gr ST Standard and 5 mm FMJ. 45 yard shot. Exit was left mid rib. Elk went maybe 30 yards
I'm trying out the 125 gr Viper Tricks this year- they are flying awesome excited to see how they perform on Iowa whitetails.
Had used mags and standards in the past with great success, just can't help from trying new ST's LOL
