Just cracked a lens on my Swaros. Too close to hunting season to get them repaired in time. What do you recommend. Then I'll have a back up once my Swaros get back.

Buy something used and then you can resale when you get your swaros back. Won't be out any money on the replacements.

Was just looking at binoculars for back up in the new Cabelas/Bass Pro catalog this morning. Several options seem to be worth looking at - Cabelas CX Pro, Vortex Viper HD, Leupold BX-4 Pro Guide, and Zeiss Terra.
Can you get to a Bass Pro or Cabelas to look through them first hand?

My choice would be the Monarch 7s. I have a pair in 8x and also Swaro 10x and think the Nikons are quite good for the money.

I was impressed with Maven's C-1 in 10x42 when I looked thru a pair at the sheep show a couple years back given the price of about $325 if I remember right and they have a good return policy if you don't like them, or so I read. And I have a couple pairs of Swaro El 10x42s...one older pair and one pair of Swaro Visions.

I picked up a pair of maven B1 10x42 for <$700 on eBay. I'm very happy. I'll definitely be buying some B3 8x30 or 10x30 for my wife. Otherwise I've seen meopta meostar go for $550 on eBay, that deal can't be beat. Maven supposedly has a vortex style warranty, that's what attracted myself. Sorry to hear about the swaros.
