Target Buck #2
Help me score my two Ohio target bucks from our food plot cam. Pretty nice indeed! We’ve been managing this 150 acre piece now for 16 years and it’s paying off. This plot is 5 acres of soybeans.

That first got to gross north of 180''

From: t-roy
07-Aug-20
A LONG WAYS north! Holy buckets, Steve! What a buck! #1 buck is actually very symmetrical. I’m gonna guess him at 212” gross, and I think that’s possibly a bit conservative. I’ll have to study the other buck some.

Thier all shooters to me!

From: Will

That first buck scores a solid: "Eyeballs popped out of my head, jaw hit floor bruising chin, and I may have peed a little"

Velvet always makes deer look bigger... But he'd look massive without velvet too. I'm in the well over 180 group on that one.

The other is amazing too. But I cant stop staring at that massive tall one!

From: Norseman

#2 reminds me of the Jordan buck. #2 is taller than # 1 imo

We have some other 130-140 deer on cams too.

SteveB,

Just let me know when to come. I’ll shoot the one you don’t shoot.

I would not post pictures and information until your hunt is over.

From: SteveB
08-Aug-20
3arrows, I get your point but not at all worried about that. No one will find it, let alone try it. Would be a militia waiting for them if they did lol. Biggest mistake of their lives. ?? besides these are photos taken of the camera screen then screen shots of that so there is no embedded metadata.

08-Aug-20
Love it. “No embedded Metadata”

We’ve come a long way gents:)

Great bucks! Looks like the hard work of management is paying off! Hopefully get one on the ground this fall to measure:-)

RD, no...they do have a score, you just don’t know exactly what it is. Lighten up.

Man could auction hunts off for that buck and be pretty wealthy if you didn't kill him very quick.

Wow, 2 outstanding bucks.

They are both incredible deer! What an amazing opportunity to have them on your own place! Taking nothing away from the eyes and experience of T Roy and others, but I cant get that 1st buck grossing past mid 190's. Steve...PLEASE kill him and prove me wrong!! That 2nd buck ain't no joke. What a frame! I believe hes older than buck #1 and larger bodied as well. I'm calling him low 160's. Seems oddly wrong to be calculating antler inches when discussing amazing animals like these 2! Just being in the woods where they live would be an experience....

So a few think he goes over 200 and a few say mid 190s and a few less. Anyone else?

Nice management on your part. GL!

I’m gonna go with 207-210 on first one and 172-177 on the second. Just a SWAG.

Just a quick glance guess... #1 -200”. #2- 180.

I see very few giant deer each each, and by that I mean 160+. These are huge. Though... velvet does always add a lot.

From: SteveB
10-Aug-20
Thanks everyone. I'm in the camp that thinks the big guy will gross over 200, maybe significantly. The other one I'm thinking upper 160s...but just a guess. Whatever he scores....it's all good! My son and wouldn't pass the "smaller" one either lol. I hope we get a shot at either of them, but we also have a couple other outstanding shooters showing up now too that would be hard to pass. We have our best crop of bucks ever this year. I will update this situation as things develop. Maybe with a thread with a video or two.

2 ish on one and 150 plus on 2. Mass is hard to judge and it can add a lot to the score. Shawn

If I shot #1 buck, first thing I’d do is cut those brows off at two inches and whittle them to a point.

Just wouldn’t be right to have a buck on the wall who’s brows gross more than my previous biggest whitetail :)

Great deer. Incredible to be able to hunt them both in the same season. I think buck one is 195” and buck two is 162”. Good luck!

From: Genesis
10-Aug-20
#1 Grosses mid 190's hard horned ....he's a main frame ten with a 105" frame (Spread+Beams+Mass) A World Class 10 the G4s keep him from 200.....but he is a boy ....definitely a boy deer!

From: SteveB

Pete-pec : Gonna give it heck trying to take them both this fall!!

From: LINK

I get 204” and 177” plus or minus a couple inches. ;)

SteveB, I like your goals. If you don't shoot for the stars, you can hardly ever expect decent results. I wasn't trying to shoot you down, but let's face it. Deer like that, don't get big by making too many mistakes. Even to see them on their feet during daylight, is a modern-day miracle. Best of luck. Score means nothing to me, but they are both 10's in my book.

From: Bill in MI

1) Based on ear length and that it's Ohio, there is 195-205 of spread, beam, tine and mass measurements (forget deducts). 2) Gross 175-185 before takeaways.

From: SteveB
16-Aug-20
Thanks guys....most of you are in the range that we are. Now....if they stay put we’ll get a chance.....hopefully!

16-Aug-20
Good luck some giants.

From: APauls
17-Aug-20
All I can say is good luck. I feel like I'm pretty accurate on guessing score up to 160. Past that I can't think straight. That first buck is well into the fog category for me. That second one is an absolute stud as well. Good luck in your quest.

From: GhostBird
17-Aug-20
I'm with Tejas… would be hard to shoot #2 first and ruin a possible chance at #1.
