Don't know about you but I am heading out in the morning (Sunday) for elk camp 6 hours away. Monday morning I will be hiking up to spike camp, (takes 3 hours and gain 1600 ft. in elevation), set up camp (when you get to camp, make camp), fill the water jug and do a little evening scouting. Wed morn, will be here before we know it. My goal is to kill an bull elk with my Great Plains recurve bow.. Good luck to all. Maybe there will be a story to come. My best, Paul
Good luck Paul, if the hunt/story is half as good as last year's it will be a dandy!
Good luck Paul! I’m heading up Tuesday early afternoon. I went scouting and pulled cameras on Wednesday.
Good luck, Paul. No archery hunt for me this year but looking forward to the stories and highlights throughout the month!
Best to you Paul. Have fun. Be safe. Put one on the ground.
Be safe and good luck. I’m 20 days behind you, in new mex.
Good luck and have fun bud, my brother set camp tonight N of Steamboat. I'll be "living" through you guys until I can get out there next week.
Best of luck Paul. Have a safe trip and another great adventure.
Best of luck Paul. Looking forward to the story. I'm guessing something just as epic as last year. Might have to hunt more than a day though.
I leave the 21st for Colorado. Hunting til end of the season. Then my Dad has an early season rifle tag that starts on the 1st of October. Will hunt with him til the 4th. Fly home. Then meet him in New Mexico on the 22nd for our rifle elk hunt. Looking forward to a great season.
Best of luck to all. Can't wait to hear all the stories. For now, I'll wait and dream
Nick

Good luck to all, Be safe.
Good luck Paul, I'll be heading out Monday, hunting Tuesday
Thanks guys. 5 am. I woke up 3-4 times during the night. You would think I would have gotten use to this opening day stuff over the years. I guess not! 6 am and ready to bail out and hit the road. All packed and ready. Weighed the pack at 45# but have supplies for 10 days, and then if needed, can hike down to the truck to replenish. Should be a trudge up the mountain but just one foot in front of the other and a few short rest stops. My 80.5 year old bones are prime and ready for this adventure. Yep, one foot in front of the other, one deep breath followed by another. Sort of like life in general. Make the best of it. What we do know for sure is that the sun rises up every morning. My best as always. Paul
Good luck Paul we can always count on you for a good story!
Best of luck Paul, and thanks for taking us along!
Good luck Paul! Hope you find the one your looking for!
Enjoy , Paul! Look forward to your report. Hitting Colorado this morning myself.

Good luck Paul, "may your bow bend quiet and your arrow fly true". Bob
Good luck Paul - we are heading out from MI on the 11th.
Good luck Paul. It will be an adventure no matter what happens with the elk.

Man, 45lbs pack up 1600 ft at 80. An amazing story already! Absolute respect. Can’t wait to follow along.
By the way, what keeps you driven to climb that mountain?

Paul, you are a true ambassador to the sport of bow hunting. Age is never a obstacle to you. Best of luck and, as always, I look forward to your story of the hunt and the photos !!!

"Yep, one foot in front of the other, one deep breath followed by another. Sort of like life in general. Make the best of it. What we do know for sure is that the sun rises up every morning."
Great words Paul.. You've got it nailed solid.
Good luck and sure you're having a good time.
Love your attitude Paul. Enjoy the experience!
I'd say "good luck" but we all know that it's your drive, determination and love of the hunt that propels you. And your success rate definitely attests to more than just luck. Dead Elk Walking!
I head out Monday (tomorrow) to try and replicate your story from last year.
I always look forward to your stories! Good luck, I can only hope I'll be doing that at your age!!
Good luck, Paul....make another memory!
Good luck Paul and can’t wait for your end of season recap.
GL Paul, I will be following sir.
Good luck, Paul. Can't wait for the story
Man, you're an inspiration at 80 plus years. Hope I can keep that fire burning too. God bless and good hunting. Kill a big one.
Looking forward to the story! Thanks for taking us along! Good luck sir!
Looking forward to the updates. Like Ambush said I would wish you good luck, but it's way more than luck with you. Have a great hunt!
Good luck Paul...
Just arrived in Colorado driving from Rhode Island.
Drove 2100 miles and only saw Trump signs (Lots). Not one Camilla sign.
Good luck Paul! Be careful.
Right on Paul, good luck!
Best of luck Paul. Tag filled or not we want a story! Be safe my friend, Jeff.
With 2020 going the way it has. I decided I better not spend the money on an elk tag this year. I’m especially looking forward to hearing from the “privileged” ;) who get to chase them! But I’d really like to see Paul nail a big herd bull with that recurve. It would make my year!
Good for you Paul. You are one tough dude that only one near your age can truly appreciate what you do and I certainly do. We are all pulling for you but you are a success by just being there. Best of elk hunting to you! Badbull
How in the world do you get your pack weight down to only 45 pounds. I swear my six days worth of food weighs almost that much:) Good luck Paul.
the incarnate bionic man! good luck and watching the updates
Godspeed Paul, may the wind always be in your face !
Eagerly looking forward to your adventure this Season!
Does anybody know if Paul gets inreach messages or checks the weather periodically? I can’t imagine he is using a 4 season tent this early in September. That storm blowing in could get dangerous for guys who backpack in for 10-14 days and can’t check the forecast that far out. If anybody can reach him, give him a heads up just in case.
Best to you ,Paul. I look forward to hearing your story of the hunt. Are you hunting the same area as last year?
Well, hope it's being a good trip & your safe & enjoying the adventure. Update when possible..
My hero good luck Paul always your stories are inspiring stay safe Lewis
Good luck Paul and be safe!
Good luck Paul and Charlie!
Anyone hear from Paul yet?
He's gonna have one helluva story for us I predict
I hope Paul is safe and WARM out there if he's still on the mountain. I'd imagine he's probably packed out to stay dry and warm, update us all and then he'll head back in to kill his bull if he hasn't already. Good luck Paul!
Anyone hear any updates from Paul?
