I used 12 mule deer points to draw a unit 10 tag in Colorado. Then I purchased an outfitter business......... After everything was scheduled I was left with the first 3 days of season and maybe the last 3 days of season.

I found some bucks and on the the morning of the 3rd day I found my way to within 50 yards of 6 bedded bucks. The biggest lay under a bush with a small shot window. When he stood up I drew..... his mid body filled the window. I moved my pin as far right in the window as I could. The arrow hit a twig on the way in and deflected. Bucks ran off hunt was over.

Fast forward 3 weeks. We had a great elk season, came off the mountain and with 3 days of season left I headed back to unit 10. Colton my wrangler came with to help glass.

We found a few great deer the first day. I think 6 stalks to under 80 yards but no shots. Morning of the 2nd day we were in the same area as the first week. Found a group of bucks in low light and started a stalk. Hour later I'm with in 50 yards again. The biggest is in the open. He raised his head......its him, the buck I missed on day 3. He turned and I drew. 58 yards hard quartering away. Arrow hit just behind his rib cage mid body. He dropped like he was shot with a 7 mag. I cant believe its him.

I shot him with a 2" ss vortex head. He never took another step after the arrow hit him. God is so good to me!

we did well. I guided 5 guys. 4 shot arrows the 5th was looking for something big. Out of 10 Bowsite guys 6 shot. 2 that didn't were longbow guys and had elk in compound range. It was very dry, hot most of the time.
