I'll post a picture tomorrow. The dough weighed 180 lb and only went 30 yd. Used a rage broadhead at a very steep cornering away and entered behind the ribs and came out the center of the chest. Amazing blood trail and a great hunt

congrats on your doe - 180# dressed might be the largest doe I have ever heard of. Or - was that undressed weight?
From: Andrew M@Work
08-Oct-20
Not trying to start a fight but Im calling BS on the 180. Even undressed. I have killed over 100 deer, my brother is pushing 150 deer and I have yet to see a doe tip the scales over 135. I need to talk to Pat about running a contest next year for heaviest dressed deer.
From: Guardian hunter
08-Oct-20
Well with due respect it is not BS. It was 180 on the hoof. Field dressed it was around 1:41. Thanks for the good thoughts everybody

In Ohio, we often kill does over 150. Fat, farm fed with age class.

A 180 pound doe is equivalent to what size rack on a buck in terms of rarity. I would say 190” deer
From: btnbuck
08-Oct-20
I've shot two does in northern Ohio that broke the 150lb mark. There's some big ones around here. Nice doe Guardian. That's what I refer to as a sausage doe :-)
From: Shuteye
08-Oct-20
The first year they ever allowed doe hunting in Maryland I killed a doe that field dressed 164 pounds. Since then I am lucky to get a 130 pound doe. I think the reason for the first one being so big was they were illegal to kill before then. I mainly hunt mature does. I let a lot of bucks walk by but now hunting with a single shot muzzle loading pistol I would shoot a buck.
From: CAS_HNTR
08-Oct-20
Does that size are definitely a real thing in Ohio.....I have shot a few that big as well.
From: Jack Harris
09-Oct-20
I could definitely see 180 on the hoof, but they sure don't get much bigger! I consider any doe dressed over 100# a damn big doe.

Just a little background on him. He's a great kid. College didn't really go well afor him after injuries on a lacrosse scholarship and really got lost for a while. We opened Ohio Premier archery and Sports in Northeast Ohio about February of last year. Then covid-19 and really made him feel even worse as we had to close for 3 months. Since then he's got well known as one of the better traditional archery guys in the state. Very honest and deeply compassionate. He's a good one. Sorry just had to show my pride. Wish you all well. G

Guardian are things heating up in Ohio? I’m heading down Saturday thru Wednesday to SE. Ohio looks like good beach weather with highs in the 70s. Probably won’t be doing all day sits I imagine movement will be at night and mornings.

Guess the right answer is yes and no. Some of my friends have gotten some really big ones the last two weeks. Mostly I have seen small basket racks. So it's active but perhaps not the right deer are moving

Well, I told my son that if I get the chance to take a buck, I will. Took a 4 pt. with 10 inch spread. Dressed out at 162lbs. My son has been out of work for almost a year do to this covid crap. He has had many interviews, but until the government figures out which way they are going to turn. Nobody was hiring. He starts monday, he will be working as a quality control engineer in a chemical plant. He has no car, his died, so he will be using mom and dads till he gets some money ahead. I am so proud of him an the way he he has been handling all the rejects because of covid. Oh, first time using the lited nocks. Got to see the hit and were it hit. Deer went about 70 yards. An the carbon express quad pro coc broadhead did the trick. davep
