I’m shooting a Hoyt Helix Ultra. The string is about 1/8” or slightly less from touching the string stop. Is that ok, or should I adjust the stop to just touch the string?

I use about a credit card width separation between the stop and the string on my Elite E35.

I was taught to loosen the set screw/s, turn the bow vertical so the string stop rests against the string, then tighten the set screw/s.

I was told from a customer service person to use a credit card to set the distance.

I was told to use a micrometer...LOL wink

Seriously all I've ever heard is an air gap. Sheet of paper, business card, dollar bill, eyeball. Honestly I don't think it matters much because once set everything will remain consistent. The only thing I've heard is not to have the stop providing pressure on the string at rest, hence the slight gap.
