Well 2nd yo last day of my Downeast Maine hunt. Very quiet the last few days. Also very warm but last evening things started to change. My buddy took a shot at a decent buck but missed. Yesterday morning was 55 and muggy, This morning it was 27 and crisp. ENE wind which is strange for the time of year but perfect for one of my blinds. Snuck in at 4:30 and had 3 doe in the field at sunrise. Not long after a nice buck showed up at about 150 yards. Being that it is Friday the 13th, I left my shooting sticks back at camp and even with a very accuratr rifle in my hand, I’m not confident at that distance without a rest. Plus he was facing me so would have had to chest shoot him and I choose to wait. Thought he would come out to check out the does. Needless to say he did not and I never got a shot on him. Picked up my shooting sticks when I went back to camp for brunch. Been back in the blind since 11:15. Hoping fir a productive afternoon. Wind is great, it’s about 38 right now. Fingers crossed.

Well had 5 doe come in to the field at 3pm abs hung out till dark. Was really expecting to see a Buck around dusk but no luck. Tomorrow is my last day. It’s been a hell of a week and I hope tomorrow brings success but either way I enjoyed my ti up here and will be back in the CT woods next weekend.

Well morning hunt of the last day done and no deer. One more sit abs then it’s a wrap. Hoping to get it done tonight but if not it was still an amazing week.

So it’s the last hunt of this week. Still only seen that one buck yesterday morning and after messing up that opportunity I am pretty bummed but it’s still been an awesome week and you never know what can happen in the last day. I’ll be in this stand until dark forces me out.
