So here in Ohio where it’s legal to open carry, I can’t open carry while bowhunting, BUT I can carry a concealed weapon with permit lol. Makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever.

Here in Indiana I can carry all I want (95% of public land also) while hunting and do, ESPECIALLY if bow hunting or roosting turkeys. More than a few encounters with very large and very aggressive farrell dogs changed my mind on going into the hunting wood unarmed ever again. Either my 5" XD 45 or my 10mm G20 is my constant hunting companion.

Carry forbidden while bowhunting in Connectict, and, carry in state forests prohibited even with a state carry permit and armed with shotgun, or .22 rifle, for deer or small game, go figure.

In mass I can only carry concealed with a permit. No open carry unless I go to NH. But I can’t carry during bow etc in the woods. Makes fending coyotes off with a bow fun. Unfortunatly they still tell me what handguns I can and can’t buy so I don’t see the rules changing any time soon

Open or concealed in Texas, but I’m not sure on the open carry when bowhunting. There was a big push for open carry and since it became law I’ve probably seen only a dozen guys carrying openly. I don’t unless I’m in the woods or at home.

Just carry anyway. Easier to pay a fine then suffer injury or worse. They ain’t gonna hang you for it. Anywhere I wanna carry cause it feels risky I do carry.

Why carry, no ammo. I just purchased a Walther ppk (my favorite. ) no ammo anywhere. Only have two boxes of 9mm for my G43.

Open carry is legal in Wyoming for both residents and nonresidents who are at least 21 years old with a few restrictions, such as schools, law enforcement offices, courtrooms, bars, etc.
Concealed carry is legal for residents whether they have a Concealed Firearms Permit (CFP) or not. Nonresidents with a CFP can conceal carry as long as their state recognizes Wyoming permits.
It's been legal to carry a firearm during archery season for several years now.

In California we can carry while bowhunting...except not while bowhunting deer. Reason is the deer law was passed legislatively (read Politicians) and not the usual manner thru the Fish & Wildlife commission. It will take a statewide change of this law after being put on the ballot...Fat Chance !!

elkpacker, and anyone who is looking on stocking up on ammo. You have to call bass pro, cabelas daily in the ate morning and ask for the calibers you want. They never know what the truck brings and when they get rounds they go in a day or two. So call often and be prepared to drive that day. My local basspro got 10k rounds of 9 mm in and it was gone that day.

Yeah, whats it hurt to pay a fine and be alive. Gun free zone are where you need to carry!
Most NE US states are Gun Free zones. If Im wearing underwear I have a gun on me.
