2021 Idaho elk license available now!
Kicking off the 2021 Elk license today.

Beware numerous license increases for Idaho in 2021.
Their system is shit again disgraceful public servants !
"At 9:45 AM MST, customers who arrived early will be assigned a random place in the virtual queue. Customers entering the site at 10:00 AM or after 10:00 AM will be placed at the end of the line. Customers will be prompted to access the site and make purchases based on their assigned place in line.
When it is your turn, you will have 5 minutes to enter the website. Once you add a tag to your cart, users will have another 5 minutes to complete your purchase. If you do not complete your purchase in the allotted time, your tag will be removed from your shopping cart."
"Your number in line: 15827 Number of users in line ahead of you: 9596 Your estimated wait time is: more than an hour
Status last updated: 11:31:29 AM MST"
Gonna be some pissed off customers. I see this going to a random draw real soon.
I am now 9,724 in line...oh wait! 9,723!
Beginning at 9:47, after several failed attempts, I was able to get logged on at 9:57 and was number 1297 in line. Only took me 8 minutes and was able to get my tag.
I got kicked out but when I logged back in I had the same place in line. I was kicked out before 9:45 and logged back in at 9:48 and was 6832 in line. waited ~1:45 to get in of course what I wanted was sold out.......
Been on for 2 hours, still over 3000 in front of me..
I just logged in and went straight to the tag purchase option, no wait.
“ At 9:45 AM MST, customers who arrived early will be assigned a random place in the virtual queue”....so essentially they made it a random draw anyway for the tags!
Lot of tags already gone. I kind of wonder if they won't be sold out the first day?
How may were there last year?
I think what saved me was at about 9:30 I logged in and put a hunting license in my basket, then when I finally got logged back in at 9:57, I think my place in line must have been saved from then?????
Yes, I did get the unit I wanted. If I remember right, I think it showed that about 20% of the tags for my area were already gone by the time I hit the "purchase" button.
I figured that as many emails that Idaho G & F were sending out to everyone saying how the NR tags were being cut way back, there would be a huge push right at 10:00, and the system wouldn't be able to withstand the pressure - from what people are saying it did crash.
Overall number of NR tags didn’t change it was 12,815 last year and it’s 12,815 this year. Difference is so many of the zones are now limited in an attempt to better distribute NR elk hunters. My zone that used to be “open” was limited this year and sold out in less than 2 hrs.
Looks like I’ll be elk hunting Wyoming this year.
