Short Legged Does
Whitetail Deer

I know this will bring out the jokes, but anybody ever see a short legged doe?
Doe pictured from my backyard trail cam the other day...
She started hanging around last year and had twin fawns, so I know she's at least three years old... First time I noticed her last year, kept thinking, something just ain't right about that deer... Then it dawned on me after recognizing a couple time after she's got really short front legs...8^)
She probably never gets tired. She’s always going downhill...
Your looking at it from the wrong perspective. She doesn't have really short front legs, she has really long back legs.
Looks like a young deer standing on uneven ground. Front legs on lower ground than the rear.
I suspect it is camera angle as well.
Griz...the deer looks to be Oriental, I bet it's pronounced 'Eireen'!
Nope - Griz and 70lbdraw - both wrong. She's from New Mexico and goes by 'Not Even'!
I suppose the first buck she runs into, will introduce himself as Ben Dover, too?!
Don't they "make the rocking world go round?"
That’s what you call a Kardashian doe.
You sure she doesn't have really long back legs?
What’s better, a long legged doe or a short legged doe trying really hard?
Ahhhhh right you guys, youenz suc for comedy...8^)))
Did like the Kardashian thing though...8^)
Will post pix on how short legged she is...8^)
In all seriousness with her weird walking gate, I'm like the that deer is odd... Took me a bit looking with binocs for wounds and such, then ta-da... her ears look small too...8^)))
Short front legs in whitetails are a recessive genetic trait linked to piebaldism. A deer showing the recessive gene can have piebald hair color, undershot lower jaw, short front legs and splayed front feet. Some deer will have all these traits, but when they do they rarely survive. Others may show only one or two of these traits. Check out this doe.
Beautiful deer, Castle! Looks like she’s even got a “Cindy Crawford” beauty mark.
I probably should have shot this one but it was Christmas Eve...
Shug, do you drink a lot while on stand?
Short legs, Roman noses, and overbites are common with piebalds but this one is normal colored... Here she is facing the other direction...
She is goofy looking! I’d shoot her to try and stop rose goofy genetics!
No Knob piebald doe that I should have shot but was talked out of
Some great info and photos here to validate a dispute against societal trend for protecting piebald, melanistic and albino animals.
Here's to short ribs on the bbq!
Warning..... gun kill. I don't take pics of does much anymore but I did of this one becauseof her large body and short legs. 1st day rifle here in PA this year.
