I know this is a bowsite not a gun site but anyone that killed a world record grizzly with a .22 is worth being recognized and it was a woman trapper!

She must of hit it in the eye socket. Pretty amazing!

Cool, and thanks for sharing DL, and exact reason for bear protection I chose shotgun with #4 buckshot... They're .24" diameter a little bigger, heavier and faster than a .22 and a whole bunch can be stoked in a shotshell... Only takes one to penetrate the brain cavity and stop a charge...

Alaskan Browns have been also been killed with 9MM and .40 S&W handguns...

Looks like she loved that ear hole shot. Plunger style .22 like my kids cricket, crazy.

I remember this well reading about it when I was a kid probably in the late 50s. I told a lot of friends but most did not believe me.Just a helluva story and a very lucky but well placed shot.Good luck Lewis

Looks like they all penetrated. She knew where to put it and might have had very different results if the bear was head on. It appears she shot it at least 9 times.

Wow! It is all about shot placement.
