I'm in the market for a new compound bow. Mine is coming up on 15 years old and am planning to upgrade. Because I haven't done it in so long, where do I start? Probably 6-700ish budget for the bare bow. Im thinking I want to look at higher end bows that are 2-3 years old, or is it better to look at lower end new options? Should I be concerned buying a used bow? My biggest concern buying used is i cant test shoot different brands to compared them. Pm or post here is fine, just looking for ideas. Thanks

Used 2-3 yr old bow for your budget. Will be a major upgrade over whatever you have if it is 15yrs old.

^^^^Agree with Bowfreak. You should be able find a fully set up higher end used bow in your price range. Lots of archery shops have trade ins as well, that you can shoot before making your mind up. Some guys like shooting the latest and greatest rigs, and upgrade every year or two.

Take a look at the new Quest CenTek. They're available in your price range. I've shot the 2019/2020 models and was very impressed.

Check out EBay, The wife and I have purchased our last 4 bows there. Typically either last years or the year before flagship bow, brand new and at considerable savings.

Elite Ritual 35. Brand new from Jerome Barrier at Appalachian Archery for under $550. Probably the best deal out there.

I’m with bowhunter24. Let the bow choose you. I upgraded a 10 year old Bowtech 350 Destroyer a couple years ago. I fully went into scheels to buy a used Bowtech or a new Realm. They talked me into shooting a Mathews Vertix and I couldn’t walk away. Never even considered Mathews. With that said, any of the choices were quieter and more forgiving than the 10 year old bow. Lots of good choices out there.
