I have known Brock since he was in grade school (his father and I have been hunting partners for over 15 years). I was on this hunt with Brock and his father and have had the privilege of sharing several camps with him. Believe me when I say that this young man is the "Real Deal" when it comes to hunting. What a privilege it is to hunt with you Brock!!! I've told you before and I'll say it again, Congrat's on a great bull Brock. I look forward to our next adventure!!!!!

Congrats! Lots of elk killers on here but in the big picture you joined a pretty small group of folks that knows what it's like to experience taking a bull elk with a sharp stick.

Sorry fellas, I haven’t been online in a bit... I heard him bugles a few times early that morning into the dark. I didn’t hesitate to start making my way towards him. By the time it was light enough to see I was already close to 300 yards from him. I knew he was going to head down into a big drainage where there was a big herd with several other bulls bugling. My bull was bugling fairly often to update me with his location. I made my way to a pinch point leading to a open meadow where I was expecting him to go. I saw a few of his cows coming through the opening followed by the big boy! I drew just before he came into the opening. One cow call to stop him at 53 yards and I let the arrow fly! I watch my lighted nock disappear into his hide through the center of his lungs. He ran about 150 yards out of sight then I heard a crash and knew he was down! It was most exciting moment in my hunting career! I appreciate all the positive comments!

The more sweat equity you have invested the more meaningful the trophy and the experience. Id say only an elite hardcore few have the salt to stick it out for that long without throwing in the towel. My last good bull I took in Colorado took me about that many days as well plus cost me about 12 pounds of body weight. Looking back I would not have changed a thing! Congrats on a well deserved bull!

way to go Brock! Nice bull

Do the work, you will get paid as evident by your nice bull elk.

24-Feb-21
She's going to eventually get killed by a bear and then WY F&G will kill the problem bears. Then the state of Wyoming will be better off in more ways then one.
