What is the best looking shoulder mount for a moose, pretty much only have 1 wall he can go on. Not sure if I should do straight, turned, upright, sneak... post pics if ya can

How tall is your ceiling, Tanner?

This pose will be fine for low ceilings...

Shoulder mount you’d be best served with a semi- sneak, if you’re not a straight pose type a slight left or right turn.

I am going with a skull mount on my next o of r a big moose.

Where I'd put him I believe is 9ft ceiling. Needing to add on or build a shop in the future.

Personally, I like a full sneak on a moose, especially with a lower ceiling. I had my taxidermist offset this mount , so it turned slightly more to the right, so it would face more towards the center of the room.

Agree with sneak. Tough with low ceilings. Peak height of this room is 18 feet.

Decided to do European on my Shiras. Much more cost effective and easier to hang!

Mike, something tells me that Amber said no to the shoulder mount...

Embry, I laughed for 5 straight seconds. That mount would save a lot of room and weight.

I think a sneak with a slight turn like Troys, makes the mount look more realistic, alive and interesting.

I’ve got a few mounts looking straight ahead and they look static or not as interesting. You can do a European on your next one.

I had mine look down a little and like it much better as you can really splay out their antlers and get a better look if they are up a little higher

Mount him from the left, they’ll kick the crap out of you if you mount from the right !

Yep full sneak with a slight turn.

Personally, I would only do a full body mount . . . can't cost that much right?

08-Feb-21
I’m still laughing at Embrys post :^)

Moose on left full sneak and one on right more semi. The left is a 50” shiras and looks bigger than the much bigger 57” Canadian. Room still under construction.

I like the European skull mount over the shoulder mount myself. I'm sure whatever you decide will turn out, moose are awesome!

I think a bull moose is the only game animal you can get away with a straight ahead look. All my other critters have slight turns so I went with the straight ahead for mine. No regrets. It's my only moose, but a big one, and the center piece of my game room.
