Crisp morning temp this am. prior to the hunt. I had left the goose pasture go for two days and when I walked the dog there yesterday afternoon, there were 32 geese on the ice of the pond, two geese on the other side of the barn and , get this, 6 geese within 10 yards of the goose blind. The geese eat the Russian Olive trees seed on the ground. Actually Chase like them also. So I thought this might be a good morning to hunt and kill a goose as it had been a few days doing so.

7:45 am goose flying farther to the south west. A few flocks but then nothing for the next hour. Very quiet morning, per geese in the sky.

a pair at 9 am flies past, and then nothing. What gives?

9:30, I hear goose coming and they are looking. I give two honks and then a few goose hums on the call. That did it.

on the ground and at 33 yards. Chase is whining his head off. Geese on alert.

set the sight at 33 yards, draw back, pick out the largest one and closest one. Arrow on its way. I swear , the goose ducked the arrow. Well I think it did. Miss!

geese are moving farther out to 40 yards. I grab another arrow. Chase still whining. I think I hear him say, "you better kill this one".

Dale, I have killed over 100 geese and over 60 turkeys with NAP Shock Wave mech. Many times reuse after cleaning and sharpening tip and blades.

Good job to both of you. Glad Chase got his snack. Many years ago my neighbor had a big pond on his property. We would go to his goose/duck blind before light in the morning. He had two rat terriers that always went with us. They could retrieve ducks but I had to wade out to get geese, especially is they weren't dead.

You clean em?
=D thanks Paul. Bet you were about to pack it in just before they came in. Amazing how often in bowhunting.... just that last bit of effort and perseverance pays off and gets it done. Congrats once again.
Chase? Man... you know he's got yur back, no matter what he says.....

Sure I de-breast every one and turn the meat into great tasting jerky. Tomorrow night we will bake the breasts covered with sauerkraut and strips of bacon. I 'll let you know how it comes out.
