I just picked this bull up this morning. It's the rack from my 2018 Wyoming bull and the cape from my 2019 Wyoming bull. I didn't save the cape from my 2018 bull because it was a solo hunt and a pack out of about 4 miles and I decided not to take the time to properly cape it or to pack the cape out. In 2019 my friends Les and Wyatt were with me and I had help packing so I decided to keep the cape.
I originally did a euro-mount on the 2018 bull and decided later to mount it. I have a few other elk mounts so I chose a different pose this time. I'm happy with how it turned out.
Nice angle it shows the nice beams.
Great bull....great mount, Mike!
Very cool mount, Mike! How bout a few field photos as well?
Cool mount and certainly a nice bull. Why did you choose that particular style of mount Mike?
Thanks everybody!
Here are a few field photos t-roy
A couple reasons Mitch. I have low ceilings and with the head tilted back the antlers are lower and I can raise the mount higher.
Also, I think the side view is nice and its different than my other mounts so I have some variety.
I think it looks great. Now I just need to shoot one big enough to do a mount like that.
That's a beauty.. Congrats
Nice job Mike! Very cool mount! TODDY
Beautiful congrats. Looks awesome
Beauty!!! Got a trip planned for 2022 out to WY. Hope to just see one like that but it would be even better to bring one back home. You should show us pics of your elk trophies in your house/office.
Nice memories for sure. Looks great!
Nice congrats looking good Lewis
Looks GREAT Mike! Congratulations my friend....
Beautiful bull and mount, congrats!
That’s a nice one Mike, on the ground or on the wall !
Very nice... congratulations...
Noce bull Mike. Good luck this year.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments.
KY Eyebow, I have a pretty small house but here are a few pics. I probably need to build an addition...
Damn nice Big Mike.
I bet ya got plenty of looks driving him home in your Pk-up!
Good luck, Robb
Dang, Mike! Maybe just start hunting cows???
Either that or you’re gonna have to build a trophy room for all this big bulls!
Looking good man! Keep pounding them!
Nice bulls and mount Mike! I haven’t killed the right bull yet, but any of them would qualify.
Beautiful... and very good work - both with the taxidermy and the hunting!
Looks awesome. Definitely a fan of non-standard forms.
Thanks again.
On my first elk hunt in 1998 I killed a 250ish 5x6 and being my first elk and not knowing if I'd ever kill another one, I got him mounted. He's the only one that will fit down the stairs into my basement so he's hanging in the man cave.
Jason, nice to see a cat earning it's keep!
Nice bull. I like the pose that you selected for that bull. I does a nice job of displaying him. Congratulations.
