For the Mathews shooters out there, what is your favorite Mathews model you ever shoot?
Switchback XT, hands down.
Last and only Mathews I shot was the lx...
Was nice
I'd have to go with the MQ1 or Switchback. Really not a fan of any of there bows since.
I’ve owned one Mathews bow. And two mission bows.
I didn’t particularly like the Mathews. Solo cam was its name I think. But, since Mathews makes Mission bows, the ballistic 2.0 is an awesome bow.
I have 4
Outback Z7 extreme Creed Veritix
Z7 extreme is most accurate
Creed is awesome to hunt with since it’s so small and shoots easy. Need really good form for long shots
Veritix has least vibration and is dead quite. Best wall for sure. Fastest. Easiest to shoot at longer range.
Shot the MQ1 for 18 years and it was amazing compared to everything else I ever shot. I shoot a Halon 6 now but still own the MQ1 and keep it as a backup bow.
The MQ1 is an awesome bow but it doesn't perform like the Halon otherwise I'd still be shooting it as my main bow.
Switchback. Wish I never sold it.
I really dig my Vertix. But, in the apocalypse, I'm grabbing my Ovation. The Vertix is a better bow but the Ovation is just "ole' Trusty." Kinda of like my hunting rig. Lots of unquestionably reliable miles.
LX
Split a limb in 2013. Mathews replaced them, but the bow hasn't been the same. New strings and cables several times, no one can seem to get it back in tune. Love that bow. Smooth draw, solid back wall, and just seemed to hold in target better than any bow I shot before or since.
Outback easily my favorite,
Had many others, but my VXR is likely my 2nd choice from Mathews.
DXT and Drenlin should be in this list. My brother still shoots a Legacy
Q2XL...I have 3 just in case.
Switchback XT bought first year they came out ana still shooting it. Nuff said
JG I noticed that as well. I wonder if it’s just that they haven’t been out that long? I also noticed not many mentions of the VXR?
I'd say the Legacy was their game changer when the introduced their vibration dampener.
That said my favorite was the Switchback.
I had a Adrenalin LD. It was a vg bow. Have an Atlas ordered.
I had a Drenalin, it was a fine bow. I sold it and kept my Diamond. I shot a NO Cam, and it didn't impress me enough to want a new bow. That's the only experience I have had with Mathews.
Icon...still shoot it. In fact I have 5 of them I like em so much
i have not shot any of the models that have came out in the last two years but i have shot several over the years and i hunted with my outback for 14 years i liked it so much. i have a no cam and a z-3 and a helim at this time and the z3 is now my favorite of all time and its the least expensive one i have ever bought.
If I want to drive tacks on spots or 3D, I still go to my Q2XLs. For hunting, my Drenilin has been my favorite. Every time I shoot one of the newer offerings, I'm unimpressed, and not compelled to switch.
Matt
Still shooting the Switchback XT!
I wonder why matthews doesn’t bring back some of those old bows that still have a strong following? There business model of making new ones every year must still be working for them
The Ultramax from 25 years ago. I killed 60 deer with mine. It was light too, 3.4 pounds. Shawn
I've been shooting the Z-7 for several years & it has served me well. I take my Drenalin as a back up bow which shoots really nice but I shoot the Z-7 a tad better. I bought my oldest son a Switchback years ago & he really shot it well. He was killed in Texas a couple years back & I could never locate that bow. Would have liked to have it for memories.
Mine was the Hunter oh wait that was Elite ;)
