I shoot the black eagle rampage 400. I'm wanting to up my arrow weight to around 450. When I use the FOC calculator it says I'm 383 with 14.5% FOC. If I add a 70gr weight screw insert I go up to 19.2%. What can I do to raise my weight and keep my FOC under 15% ?

Add weed eater line, weight tubes, or new arrows. Unless your spine is negatively impacted by the additional tip weight, run them at 19% foc. Why are you trying to avoid the heavy foc?

If you add 70 gr to the front, I would be you are weak on spine with a 400. What is your poundage, draw length, arrow length, etc.

Drawing 28" 65lbs 29" arrow 100gr tip

I'm not worried too much about heavy FOC if it won't negatively impact me down range. I've just read you want to stay around or under 15% ?

" I've just read you want to stay around or under 15% ?"

You heard wrong. Lots of us like 15% MINIMUM foc. As said, your only issue adding weight up front is it will give you weak spine.

If you add 70 grains up front with 100 grain tip and 29" arrow, I'm betting you will need a 340 spine or possibly even 300 spine. 400 spine is significantly underspined. This webite will help you determine proper spine you will need.

I can't believe you're getting by with a 400 spine arrow at your current specs???

I shoot a .400 spined shaft, cut to 27", 28" draw with 175 grains up front from a 62 pound bow, with perfect bare shaft arrow flight at 30 yards. And I'm running a 16% foc.

Why add 70 grains up front with a 100 grain head? Is there a reason not to use a 125 grain head and get some of the weight that way?
