We rescued/adopted a new dog yesterday. Her name is Salmiakki, we are calling her Mia for short. She is fitting in well.
After losing my best friend Annie this past July, I finally found it in my heart to accept another pup into my life. Ivy is now 3 months old...Golden Retriever
Buck the wonder dog was out goose hunting a bit yesterday!
My shed hunter in training. Currently still more interested in playing keep what you find a 6.5 months old
Got these 2 little munchkins about 2 weeks ago. The boy in the black harness is Junior and his sister in the blue harness is Vada. This pic is from their first big adventure behind the house.
We lost a dog unexpectedly this past summer and it was hard on all of us, especially my son. Friends of ours have pugs and when they told us their girl was pregnant, I knew it was inevitable that we'd be getting a new pup. She had 2 and we decided, what the heck, and took them both.
These are the first small dogs I've ever had but I'll say they are extremely loveable, intelligent and so far, easily trained. They love taking walks through the fields and woods behind the house and I'm hoping at least one of them will be able to find my lost arrows when I stump shoot....not that I miss all that much, LOL.
Great looking dogs everyone, and thanks for sharing the pics of your 4 legged buddies!
We picked up a Brittany/golden mix back in November from some folks I’ve pheasant hunted with in the past in SD. Her dad is a heck of a bird dog and I’m hoping the genetics were passed down!
Meet Bo. He's a lab mix that has a tendency to jump over me at times.
Everyone knows Tater tot... :)
I was fishing in a river yesterday, in SE Oklahoma. She got away from my wife and scent trailed me down the bank about a 1/4 mile. I hear some bark rustling and look back to see her climbing this dead tree. The tree was right above the moving river too! She then did a 180 turn on top of the skinny log and I about had a heart attack! I was thinking that water is cold and I don’t want to go swimming after her. Then I calmed down and took this photo. ;)
Bodie. Pheasants/grouse don’t stand a chance.
Love the tater tot pic! Here's my buddy Rio. Loves the snow!
You guys aren't helping me with this thread either! Or maybe you are.
We are thinking a lot of TN Treeing Brindle is in him. DNA test soon :)

My sons puppy...he’s a handful.
All these dog pics with pheasants in them sure are making me miss South Dakota. Great dogs and awesome pics guys.
I'm a lab guy. Had to put mine down a couple years ago. The wife and kids needed a new dog. I fought it as long as I could but ended up with a Cockalier (sp?). Guess who she loves the most. LOL.
My wife’s dog, Hemi is a world class shed dog...... My wife has to sweep twice a day! ;-)
She’s a therapy dog, and she loves everybody.
A tired dog is a GOOD dog!

My Buddy and I have run several hundred miles together.
We got Hemi after we had to put Poochie Mama down. Poochie was a stray that somebody dumped off on my dead end gravel road, and she adopted me. She LOVED to ride with me while I was pushing snow. She would sit right next to me, lean up against me and put her head on my shoulder. She was the best dog we ever had, and I cried like a baby the day we had to put her down.
Great pics guys. Here’s our Buddy at the cabin where he has the run of the place.
At 72 years I got my third Boykin Spaniel female. She just turned 1 year and makes a Jack Russell seems sedate. Loves to find birds, eats everything, even my hearing aids.
An active pup will keep you busy and life better.
Great pictures of all of the dogs! Here is ours. Hugo just turned 1 and he is a great companion already.
Another of Hugo - He loves the snow.
Any of you guys have a Wirehaired Griffon? In search of puppy and I'm interested in this breed...
I haven't seen any pics of any hound breeds posted so here's a pic of our new beagle pup. He goes by the name Clyde.
I love these threads. The picture is of Ruger. He’s my neighbors dog who lives a half mile down the road. He comes by almost daily and comes in through the dog door. Makes himself at home. Hangs out with me in the house and shop. He knows all the neighborhood gossip. Man, I love that dog and he’s not even mine!
My rescue. Very proud of herself while helping to butcher an elk.

Dogs are indeed a gift to us! My one hope is that if I make it to Heaven, that I will have at least a dozen arms so that I can hug and pet all my dogs for eternity. That'll be a lot of ear rubbing!
Here's Willie. He's been a great dog so far. He is about 15 months old here.
That's one very handsome boy Heat! I'm a sucker for yellow labs. Love them!
Love the pics and got a soft spot for them bird dogs. Alas the wife would only consider something smaller....so here's Larry, named after Larry Fitzgerald. Boston Terrier, smart as a whip, well trained, and knows who the boss is.
This is my pup Hank, hoping once he gets to a less playful stage I can use him as a decoy dog when calling coyotes. He’s a border collie/black mouth curr mix.

He’s gotten bigger than we anticipated, he’s just over a year old.

Our dog Gracie is getting old and I’m sure not loving moving from a huge free range yard with electronic yard collar and house entry door to a small duplex with no yard.

Dog threads are the best!
Took me 8 years to get over my last best friend. Here's my new best friend. Born July 27th. Not that they are known for it, but started pointing at early November. American bulldog named Kino. Like the Vegas game, but spelled different.
Yah Embry. Helluva lot better than those ridiculous covid bitching and arguing threads!
My Belle , she's 13 in this pic. Going to be 14 in May. It's a cruel joke they only live a short life.
Our little girl just turned one.
My two labs, Rosy and Lucy. Rosy just turned two, Lucy is two and a half. They can hunt.
Lost my oldest last Nov. Pearl was fourteen and a half, was deaf, epileptic and had lung cancer, but still went hunting with us, doing the best she could. She died in the back seat of the truck somewhere in Montana coming home from a ND, MN hunting trip. The picture is from an Oct. pheasant hunt.
They are a true blessing to us all
Doing what they love....

My buddy, Trapper. His last Spring beaver outing in April.. Had to put him to sleep in August.
To address the lack of terriers, here's my wife's Parson Russell Terrier, Buddy [AKA by the UK Kennel Club as 'Mountain Ringlet']
And here's some more Hounds...Beagles here in the east of England
Always a sucker for dog threads! Lexi (3-Yf) and Sage (7-Cm)

I had to put my black lab down about 7 years ago because of hip displacement. Haven’t been able to get myself to get another dog. My wife as been begging me and I said ok. I’m looking at Goldendoodle’s but the price makes me puke in my mouth a bit!
My lapdog Pearly Girls and her chewed up blankets...8^)
Pearly Girl and my blanket chewing blood trailing teckel, Elsa...
My labs after a long day of chasing birds.
Great dog pictures. I miss the dogs I have had over the years but am now without a dog.
Shuteye, Rio said he'd adopt you if you need a dog fix(will have to be via Zoom) but he's very photogenic!
This is Thor, after an excavation project.

Heres our Beagle... Miss Whitley. We got a house full of boys so when it was time for a puppy mom made sure she got herself a female.
Great photos all!
This our pup Nash. Supposed to be a labradoodle but I think he got more lab than doodle. Loves running the woods with me scouting for deer
Our 90 pound Labradoodle, Bucko, loves to root around in the snow.
My boy Rex, standard poodle, checking out some huge catfish
My Vizsla Syd. Couldn't ask for a better dog.

My Boykin Spaniel Grits. I had Labrador retrievers most of my life and they for the most part stayed in a concrete run outside, after I lost the last one I changed breeds and now I know what people talk about when they say it’s a member of the family.

Who doesn’t love a dog thread
Echo musta been sneakin’’ peeks at the girl dogs when dad wasn’t lookin’! Ha!
Ok....Russ, that is one fine looking puppy. I would spoil him for sure.
My cousin's son is a swat team K-9 officer and has German Shepherds. My cousin, Toby, had a beautiful German Shepherd that was a real joy. When he went to dunkin donut the girls in there knew Bear and knew what kind of donut he was allowed to have. He got cancer and passed away at 4 years old. Toby was heart broken for days. His son told him he had a friend that was breeding special German Shepherds and would set him up with a new puppy. The picture is his new puppy and I am sure he is going to have a great life.
My Gunny boy is my buddy and absolutely my partner in crime lol
This is Leroy!! Named after someone from our greatest generation!! A WW 2 hero named Leroy Chesbouro, he was a gentlemen that resided in the long term care facility where I work. He had a Golden Retriever named Lexi and she came and visited him every day, I mean everyday someone from the family bought her to the facilty and he spent time with her!! He passed a few years back and Lexi was heart broken, she still came and visited everyone else for the Next couple years until she too passed. My daughter and I had attended Leroys funeral and his full military burial!! Afterwards I decided to look for a new dog and the one you see here is who I got!! One of the best dogs I have ever owned, great nose, wants to please beyond belief and a fitting tribute to a great man and my friend Leroy Chesbouro! Shawn
OK, so many awesome photos. I have to put my Diego up here too.
She is smarter than most of the children I’ve met. A great dog is such an amazing thing....Gracie the wonder dog.

Wondering if seeing this thread is a sign it’s time to get a dog for my kid. I’ve had a couple professionals and an associate say it’d help him deal with extreme anxiety issues. I’m also looking for a new hobby since motocross is officially off the list.
Starting to do research on breeds and figure out how much of a commitment it’ll be. That’s always been my biggest hang up.
UZF, A good dog is great for a family. My kids have grown up with dogs. My son slept every night with our old lab. It teaches them responsibility.
It is a time commitment especially in the pup stage but we'll worth it.
If looking for a family dog a Golden Retriever is one awesome dog!! If looking for one for hnting and family they are good but a German Shortagair may be better. Shawn
Had labs for thirty years,Short-hairs and English Pointers for the last 15.Love all breeds but would never own any of the long -haired ones(too much upkeep). Our dogs hunt for their keep.

For those of you who lost your freinds.
All those pheasant shots are making me drool. What do I have to do to get you to take me pheasant hunting? Suck on a lemon?

When it’s cloudy, a dog brings sunshine into your life. My buddy of 13 years moved on today. Love them everyday.
My buddy Gunner crossed over the rainbow bridge about 3 years ago after being my best companion for 12 short years. He trained me well we are due to get another I have had labs for over 50 years but losing G man really hurt.Good luck Lewis
My blood trailer - in - training.
Great pooches all. They leave us too soon.
Have had English Cockers over the last 30 yrs, small and quiet in the house but are very hard hunters in the field. The best dog I had was a Golden Retriever, swear she had esp, didn't have to use my voice in the field just knew what to do, she was stolen at 7 yrs old and found out it was highly likely used in dog fight training while living in OK., one of the very few times I carried a pistol when looking for her. To the best of you all for your dogs.
Dog found a bone yeaterday, chewed up remnant forkie.
Love seeing all these beauties! I love these 2 with every ounce of my being....
Looks like my wife and I just bought a male goldendoodle! 2 weeks old right now. I didn’t think I would be ready after putting my black lab and buddy to sleep a few years ago but I think it’s time now. I’ll post some pics once I get some. Let the adventure begin again.
This is Teddy, shed hunting machine in training. We have had him a little over a week. I had forgotten how much fun(work) puppies can be;)

Jedda...my best friend and hunting partner.
I have a 12 year old chocolate lab (Mo). He has Laryngeal paralysis and I’m not sure he will make it much longer. He’s been a great friend and I will hate to see him go. It’s been heavy on my mind.
Ryan, have you tried Golden Paste for your lab?
I don’t know what Golden Paste is?
KS, I haven’t heard about Golden Paste, but when our lab was diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis I started giving him Throat Gold by Pet Wellbeing. It seemed to give him some relief. Best wishes, it’s never easy seeing their health start to fail.
Thanks wyobull. I’m going to try it. I hate seeing Mo in this condition and it’s progressing rapidly. Anything to ease the remainder of his life. I owe it to him.
KS - Our Chocolate Lab Bodey had laryngeal paralysis and we chose to have the tie-back procedure done for him and it helped him greatly and I am so glad that we did it for him. He was with us a couple more years before it was his time to cross over the Rainbow Bridge due to unrelated issues. Our new Chocolate Lab Hugo has somewhat filled Bodey's void, but I still think of him almost every day. Tough to see your best four-legged friends get old.
