Early this morning I was nearly suicidal/homicidal after getting a text from credit card telling me they declined payment to Utah for an elk tag.
But Utah is very forgiving in their draw process (Thank You!!), just got the email saying I got Wasatch archery elk!

With the later dates and Covid keeping people in the USA I’ll bet apps were way up and some high point holders cashes in. I should have drawn Fishlake archery with 17 points.

I was hoping some one would have drawn the LE Oak Creek buck tag or the OIL Oak Creek Ram tag (Cali sub-species of the Rocky Ram) as I did some Chukar hunting on the mountain in Dec/Jan and I sure saw some nice bucks a a few nice Rams.
It would be fun to share some intel.

My wife’s buddy drew the bookcliffs LE roadless elk tag two years ago...turned it in Did not draw last year, which she should have since she turned the tag in… Then again didn’t draw this year even though she was ahead of everyone with points...I don’t get this goofy state Any ideas??

Jake, how do you know she was ahead of everyone in points? Given this year's later dates, I expect some high point holders who have previously just bought points or only applied for the "best" hunt have now entered the draw for more reasonable hunts with their points.
Especially when dates or rules change, past results are not necessarily indicative of future outcomes.

Jake Brake, if she was putting in for BCR archery, there is only one tag now, so it is random. They also stole the muzzleloader tag out of that unit so there are no NR tags for that. The only one she could have “more points” that everyone else is the any weapon tag where there is still one max point NR tag and one random NR tag.

Well, I was looking at my credit card and noticed a $1000 charge from Utah DFG which can only be LE elk. I double checked my results and it says I was unsuccessful, so that could only mean that my dad drew (I put my dad in a few different state's draws). I had told him to check his email when the results came out, but he didn't see the email. Sure enough, I had him check again and it was in his spam folder and he drew West Desert Deep creek LE bull elk archery. Looks like I'll be in Utah this September!
