Lusas, I was hunting Coues in Mexico 130 miles SSE of Nogales Mex.. In the morning around the tent blind and back in the thicket, there must have been dozens of them. Out they all came to drink. Neat bird. The other bird was a dove, hundreds of them came to water right a first light. This hawk had his pick.

I did want to open up on those Chacalacas that are so annoying in the morning. One tree full starts then another and another. Remind me of Guinea hens. I always enjoy listening to and seeing different birds when traveling. Thanks fo the pictures.

Most likely, it will be a double breasted thruster that far south, BEG. The red breasted ones rarely migrate much south of the Canadian border.

I've done a few trips into the jungles of Belize and Guatemala. If you can make it into the Yucatan lowlands, Maya Mountains or upland cloud forests its simple amazing. Trogans, quetzals, toucans, macaws, crested guans, white hawks, wood storks, bat falcons ... it's simply amazing. Of course there's also dengue fever, Zika virus, leishmaniasis, malaria, bot flies, fer-de-lance (big pit vipers) and such. Every winter I start dreaming about doing another trip, but life keeps getting in the way.

The jays in the Yucatán were beautiful but like typical jays really annoying. Every morning flocks of Chacalacas would start screaming at each other from there roosting places.
