I have a pair of Lacrosse ankle high boots. I wear them around the house mucking around. Comfortable and easy on/off

Lewis, I've been known to try every boot in the store and walk out without buying anything at all. Can't recommend a brand because I don't wear 'pull-on' boots; if they don't lace up I leave 'em on the shelf. Good luck in your search.

I have a older pair of Mucks and they work fine for wet grass and taking the dog out or camping. I wouldn't go hiking in them though.

Over half the population of Alaska lives in Xtratuffs. Might be worth a try.
