Iowa Preference point question

Looking at their draw results table it talks about the number of PP but I’m unsure if they are referring to the number of PP’s accumulated in years past or if their including the current years application as well. Ex. I have three points accumulated and am applying this year so does their draw table consider that 4 pts or three?

The way I understand it - you either put in for a point or a tag but not both.

You don't earn a point unless you either buy one or you are unsuccessful in the draw. If you're applying this year you haven't been unsuccessful yet so you haven't earned your fourth point yet.

They only count previously acquired points in the current draw.

Yup, if ya don't draw this year with 3 points you will get one more for next year and have 4 points. Shawn
