NM 51a expectations

So I put all my eggs in Iowa deer this year, and was unsuccessful with 4 points.
Now the elk draws are basically over so I’m scrambling on how to make a hunt and trying to avoid CO otc.
I’ve found some land owner tags in NM for 51a and 53. 53 seems to be rough terrain so was kind of looking at 51a more.
Could anyone shed some light on what I could expect there game population wise and number of hunters?
Trying to get a rough idea on What I could expect before I drop the money on the tag. They ain’t cheap lol.
