Thats great you don't see those very often. As an aside in all of the mounts I have seen prairie dogs must be really hard because most of them suck!

Lucas, it must be a rodent thing. Squirrels I’ve seen mounted look like rats ! :-)
On the way to Montana to bowhunt lopes, my son and I went through some kind of touristy place that had several albino prairie dogs, but I can’t remember where it was. South Dakota maybe ?

Great picture. About 15 years ago one of the Yellow Bellied Marmots that live near my north boundary had 4 albino and 2 regular young. I never got any good pics.
By the end of the summer only 2 were left and the next spring the last one disappeared midsummer.
Could never get myself to shoot one even though I regularly kill quite a few of the regular ones each year.

We have gray squirrels and a few years ago I kept seeing a huge jet black squirrel. I shot plenty of the normal squirrels but didn't want to shoot the black one. The other squirrels didn't associate with the black one. He is now long gone.

The place near SE MT does not have any albinos. They are lacking pigment, but not albino. They are cool to see as well. But seeing a true albino was cool.
