I just got him back from the taxidermist. I am very happy with how it turned out. He weighed a smidge over 250#. He sure made good eatin'!

Oh, used an osage selfbow, hard maple shaft and an obsidian point. 16 yard shot and less than 50 yard recovery.

Very nice. Even more impressive to do it with the extreme primitive gear. I’m assuming you fashioned your gear, yourself? Any pics of it?

That is awesome! Did you you start a thread when you killed him with maybe a video? It seems like there was a thread a while back about someone bear hunting with stone heads. If that was you add a link to that thread too.

Paul thats one of my toddlers learning books. I used it to keep the mount level. It kept falling forward onto the muzzle.

This is the same shaft I used. A Forresters Hard Maple, I stained it with a homemade mixture to give it the two tone appearance.

Very nice and super impressive! If I was crafty I’d give it a shot. Until then, I’ll buy my arrows I suppose :( lol

A fellow lefty!!! I'm impressed that you cut a shelf in that bow and it held together. Tried that on my latest Osage selfbow and it blew on the practice range. Great job on the bear. I'm going for the same feat but targeting a deer not a bear

Yes, the skins came from Cipriano Rivera when I was still on FB (few years ago). He always had the best quality skins
