What size peep does everyone use?
I've shot 3/16" "forever" but been experimenting this year with 1/4" on a backup bow. Just switched over my main bow to 1/4" this week. Like the extra view...and this is with a 1-3/4" dia sight ring.
I had used 1/4" dia in the past with an old Black Gold sight that has a 2" ring on a very short mount (nearly tight to the riser)...almost a necessity to use the big peep otherwise the sight ring is blocked out by the peep.
used to use 1/4" G5 on a 2" ring, moved up to 5/16 a couple years ago.
Shorter and shorter bows move the peep farther and farther away from your eye do to string angle. I think my bow is about as short as I'd care for right now, but also think I've said that before. And if the 5/16 even thinks about messing wid me at last available light I'll find a 3/8 in a New York minute
3/16”, but thinking of trying the 1/4” to see if it helps in lower light situations, especially in the timber.
If your sight has a round housing, I'd select a peep size that allows you to center the entire housing just inside the outer perimeter of the peep at full draw. It will provide you another check point for a consistent anchor.

1/4 but I prefer a longer brace ht as well as a axle to axle bow.
5/16 verifier - now I can see my pins and what I am shooting at
Two schools of thought here. Center the pin in the peep and use a smaller peep or center the round sight housing and use a larger peep as described by Grey Ghost. I center the sight housing and use the larger peep because it gives me more light transmission at dawn and dusk and provides more field of view to not only see all five pins but also see things like branches that might get in the way of the arrow.
Peep size selection is another great reason to buy a bow press so you can experiment with different sizes of peeps to match your bow, sight and style. I use a larger peep in my backup bow because the string angle is a little more than my other bow and the sight housing is a little bigger.
Agree with Tilzbow and Grey Ghost. I use 3/16 because it matches my sight housing.
5/16" and a 2" pin guard on my BG sight. I'm hunting some thick swamps/forests and I need as much light as I can get. Never have a shot over 30 yards. I'm accurate with the setup.
