With things getting kicked off on the West Coast for Columbia BT and the threads regarding Sitka BT, thought it was time to put up the meatpole.

I shared this on another thread, but thought I'd post it up here for posterity :) Killed 7/26 on day three of a hunt with Arrow 5 Outfitters in Humboldt County, CA. Fantastic hunt, and even better people!

Post 'em up!

Congratulations, awesome buck!!

wow. awesome buck

Congrats, unique configuration for sure- I do wonder how P&Y would score that buck? NT for sure but the standard frame seems uneven.

He definitely would be categorized as a non-typical, as he had almost 24" of non-typical points. His frame was uneven, and it grossed around 90" and netted closer to 80" because of the unevenness. Here's how he green scored:

Left Frame (including mass measurements) - 35-7/8"

Right Frame (including mass measurements) - 43-6/8"

Spread - 11"

NT Points - 23-7/8"

Gross - 114-4/8"

Deductions - 9-5/8"

Net - 104-7/8" non-typical

That’s a great buck Jason, Congratulations!

I harvested two decent Sitka Blacktail bucks on Kodiak a few weeks ago. I arrowed a much bigger buck last year but lost it to a Brown Bear and did not get one so a good excuse for a rematch this year.

I’m looking at a Columbia Blacktail with Arrow Five myself to complete my archery deer slam. My daughter is going to college in California at Redlands so a trip before she graduates may be on the agenda.

Panther, where I was lucky enough to encounter him is all Columbian Blacktail country.
