Guess the Score

Hey everyone it's getting close to elk season. Cnelk (Brad) used to post these type of threads. I shot this bull at 11yds in 2009. I wasn't being to picky, because I started a new job and had only four days to hunt. This is the best picture I have. It's been officially scored by a P&Y scorer. I'll post the score sheet in a few days. Guess away!

Craig doesn’t shoot small bulls. That bull is bigger than he looks

Well I guess if you only have 4 days it'll do.
I won't even try to guess cause I'll be way off. But I'd shoot that one on the 1st hour of a 2 week hunt without hesitation.

Since people are usually behind longarming I try to use the head and ears as reference points. I can’t see them. So no guess But as said, I wouldn’t pass him that’s for sure.

MA-PA- I was going to go with 327" :) I'll bump it up a hair so there's a little more spread between our guess! Looks like a shade under 330". Great 5ths, nice 3rds, good mass, good main beam length. Hard to judge spread from pic. Tremendous bull either way.

Took a second look. I would like to change my score to 285. When do we find out?
From: Bowboy

The actual gross score is 278 4/8 and the net is 268 7/8. This was a solo hunt in WY of course. I'll post another one soon for you guys to guesstimate.

Wow, other than the weak brows where is he short?
Score sheet for our education?

So 265 revised to 285 is pretty much spot on! Nice bull. I would have shot on day one. Congrats.

The same age bull as Craig's out of most CO high country units I hunted wouldn't make P&Y (260 net minimum). They'd come in around 245 - 250...in my experience. WY bulls definitely seems to grow a bit more antler versus CO, at least in the high country.

Excellent to see an actual score sheet on the elk! Sure was a lot of +300" guesses off one side view photo. Shows how difficult it can be to guess the score of a critter in the field from a quick look.

Also, I forgot that Craig is like 4' tall.. ;-)

Oh, wait a minute…he’s taller than me. Never mind.
