Congrats guys. Dandy bull, bou!
Blessed to have a good friend help call in this bull Friday morning. Made a good 30yd shot. He went 80yards and piled up. Pack out was hell but it was all worth it.
Congrats on all the success guys!
Pike does that elk have some really goofy bases? It looks like his antlers are growing out of humps on his head! Maybe it is just the angle. Congrats either way.
Pedicle on the left antler brow tine is twisted almost 90 degrees forward, that is very cool looking !
330yds from my truck
Go Deep Boys
Good tuneup for moose, Brad! Congrats!
JohnMC - His right base was all messed up. It was twisted and turned forward. The antler on that side had some cool palmation and weird stuff going on at the top. Matt from Rocky Mountain Headhunters is cleaning the skull. It will be cool to see all cleaned up.
Congrats & Great start guys! Hope to add mine in a couple of weeks
NM elk, my first elk hunt ever. Blessed with an awesome hunt.
My buddy and myself had a good hunt with Forest at Flat Tops Adventures in Colorado. First elk. God is good!!!

Killed in Pa. elk season
Stringg.. more info on the cat kill please..
Solo hunt in Colorado wilderness area. September 3. So much work getting it off the mountain that I decided to retire from elk hunting....for a day!
Knife- we had three different cats on camera this year in a 5 mile +\~ area. I actually got a pic on a game camera of a cougar in mid air getting ready to land on an elk calf. This female cat came into the spot I was sitting right before dark. Shot her with my bow at 25 yards. This is in eastern Oregon.
Called this bull in for my buddy in Wyoming on day one of the hunt. Should have went 2 for 2 on the hunt but my other buddy’s arrow found the shoulder blade. Great hunt with good friends!
Image tools aren't working, so it's staying sideways.
I'm starting to believe Cnelk hunts deeper in the wilderness than anyone. He's just advocating for guys to stay out of his 20 mile in backpacking spots. LOL
Edit: I guess it deleted my photo and won't let me reupload. Oh well.
Congrats on great animals!!! Good luck to those who have hunts coming up. Keep them coming.
Having same issue as Dyjack. Image tools won’t rotate.
Lung$hot's bull
Lung$hot's bull
See if I can get the pic rotated. Nobody should be on the meat pole sideways.
Edit: Sorry Lungshot. I even saved it to my laptop, flipped it and reposted. Still not right.
All good Jethro. Thanks for trying.
Congratulations!! What a bull
Colorado otc. Was pursuing a herd that had a bull that was bugling. Saw this little guy come running in when he heard me crunching along the dry ground. He got in the way. 40 yard shot. He ran about 70 yards and was dead in 3 seconds
Somebody fix the sideways pics! Best thread of the year and my neck hurts!
Congratulations everyone! Should start piling up here in a few days…
Lot's of good eating being put on the ground, gents. it puts a smile on my face.

Dropped my points on a Colorado draw unit. After only hunting OTC it was crazy to experience this type of hunt. Called in 7 bulls in 3 days.
Huge thanks to Elknut! Your advice has completely changed my archery experience over the last 3 seasons.
Big, that's a stud. Congrats!
That's a Bull of a lifetime, congrats man
BigJobsRBig, Congrats! Great Bull! What unit did you drop your PP on?
Slammer Bull Bigjobs. Incredible back end.
Congratulations to you all! Returning from a great week in WY general and was lucky enough to seal the deal on a dream bull for me as a flat lander. 9/14/2021. Rough video but hope to get it all put together. Love the mountains and don’t need to fill a tag to be a successful trip. Miss it already.
Update: I was able to rough edit our hunt and more video of the entire experience. I apologize as I film for my own reasons and much of this is rough and I add in stuff so I can recall each day or step along the way. My audio is poor and I need to upgrade that someday. Ear buds are best for viewing, but if any of you are extremely bored, here is a link to the adventure. https://youtu.be/AI1silNen-w
Congrats guys. Most elk don’t come easy
A couple of shockers....Brad kills an elk next to the truck and Justin tags a Colorado bull :)
And another good bull. Congrats gentlemen.
Way to be Dylan! Can't wait to see the footage
Solo hunt and one day to get it done. Definitely feeling the aftermath of yesterday’s pack out!

Last year I killed a great pope and young bull on public land. My goal this year was to shoot a cow. My son Brendon was able to video the shot and lead up as well. Great footage! 47 yd shot. 45 yd death wobble.

After 17 days living like a hobo I finally find a bull dumb enough to come into my calling.
Man there are some public land big bull killers on here. Congrats guys.
Some dandys really starting to roll in. Congrats guys!
Noah hunted 8 days to get his chance at a spike. We aren't experienced elk hunters, but we sure learned a lot together and started to get our process down. Right after he shot a nice 6x6 walked out. All we could do was laugh and enjoy the moment. I told him he can't accomplish too much his first elk season!
That's awesome, Rattling!
Anyone else noticed the surge in reports as the moon phase approaches?
this bull just jumped in the path of my recurve shot arrow. Crazy for sure. What was he thinking :)

Rattling, that's the best post yet. Congrats to the young hunter!!
Congrats Paul!...Here is my DIY Wyoming general public land bull. Shot 9-11-21 with my Bowtech Insanity CPX bow. 435 grain arrow, using Quad Exodus broadhead. The bull went 150 yds after the shot.
Congrats Paul for the recurve bow kill bull, glad to see you hang in with the recurve.
Colorado, corona virus bull. Nothing like dust and corona. Been on the sidelines since, hoping to get back out last week and enjoy what's left of September.

Great pictures. Here is my bull from 2021. Wyoming. Group went 4/5. All bulls killed within 120 yrds from each other over two days. The other three killed within 100 yrds within 30 minutes of each other. Crazy rut action.
Frontier, that's pretty wild! Especially with what looks like pretty open country.
My hard earned bull after running around with the Flattops Adventures crew!
Having spent the last 8 days in eastern central Wyoming chasing elk. My son closed the deal on the last night. He missed just thirty seconds before on a spike. Cleared his head and continued to walk towards a second spike. With a cow decoy on his bow and a hoochie momma in the other. And executed a perfect shot on this bull.
Great elk everyone. This annual thread always makes me smile!
9/22/21- 20 yard Frontal. Finally found a group of bulls that wanted to play.
Congrats to all you successful elk hunters. We got back from Colorado late last night with empty coolers and pockets full of unfilled tags. Had a great time just could not find the elk. Not for a lack of trying. Now to start dreaming of 2022.
Congratulations to all who scored & to those that had the experience even if no Elk taken. My son & his buddy just got back from Co. OTC, 2 weeks. No Elk. They were in a few here & there but no shooting. Son was close a couple times but never materialized. His 1st trip. He has a close school friend that is a long time resident of Co. now & Going to his place next year. He's hooked.
Just got home from an 8 day hunt in a OTC unit. Had a bull fired up and coming to my calls on day 6 only to be shot by a ML guy. Congrats to him and all successful hunters
CO bull out of one of last years burn areas.

Finally found a bull that was fired up this morning! Called him in from at least a half mile away, down one side of the canyon and up the other. Came in to 8 yds. Went about a 100. Pack out wasn’t far but was very steep downhill. Better than up!
Been A long grind. Happy to be done. Congrats to all. MT 9-28-21. Hunt
Congrats to all. Not the biggest bull but after 2 weeks and many close encounters I needed to fill the freezer.
Brennan gets it done every year. Big bulls!
Great bull Brett, i'm partial to trad guys.

Nice job everyone, very well done!
ElkNut
Montana general. 9/28. This guy let me get within 48 yards. Too good to pass.
After my wife and Hunting Partner passed away in Feb.2021 I just wasn't sure I even wanted to hunt this year. I finally got the nerve up and went out solo. It was bittersweet but bull #16 with my bow was a good freezer filler. I miss you Kami!
So sorry for your loss, Mt. Man! I’m betting you felt her spirit with you on this hunt. One can only imagine the gambit of emotions you went through, this fall.
Scott, God has a way of helping those that help themselves and then move forward in life. Nicely done. Paul
Way to go mt man! Stay strong.
Awesome Mt. Man, Hope this adds to your peace. They were with you. God Bless
Degner boys whacking and stacking some cows. After 14 days of looking for a big bull, Brendon passed a few small bulls to kill this delicious cow!
*rifle kill* flew down to NM to help my brother with his first elk tag. They had scouted for 3 days prior and found several bulls. First elk hunt. First morning. Doesn't get much better
Great to see your picture mtn. Man hope you’re doing well!
My son Lucas’s biggest bull
My wife’s first elk. Her little boy guided her to it and carried it up an800 ft cliff along with his girlfriend Adrianne.
What an amazing bull with the forked fourths, Rgiesey!!! Congrats to your son and wife!
Congrats and prayers to you, Mt. Man.
Also Luke’s girlfriend Adrianne Swan killed her first elk.
Mt. man, Great to see you on here with a bull. Your post was very touching for me as I remember your story. Congrats, Badbull
Quite an impressive laundry list, Rgeisey! Your son’s bull is a gagger!
Luke’s is a dandy! And congratulations to the ladies on their first bulls, very nice for first elk, coming from a guy whose first was a cow! Very good elk year at the Giesey house!!!!
9/21/21 CO Biggest bull in a long career. DIY public land hunt. 18 yd. Shot, 75 yd. Pileup and 3 mile pack out. Still feeling that recovery after a month
Wow, Randy! The Giesey clan really loaded up with great bulls! Luke’s is awesome and love seeing the ladies firsts! Spectacular! Congratulations!
Mt. Man:
You’ve got the best elk listed here!
Mt Man.....glad to see a smile on your face. I remember Kami's story. I hope you continue to find peace. Well done sir!!
I was finally able to connect on an Alberta bull this year.
You’ve got this “trophy pic” thing down pretty good, Kyle!
Congrats on a great 11th hour bull!
All came together on this bull after passing on a bunch in the 300” range over 18 hunting days and 24 overall days put into the hunt.

We were first timers with rented llamas. Easy and trouble free as compared to horses IMO and allowed us to hunt far deeper than would ever try to pack an elk on my back.

Put 24 days into Colo Elk season this year, 20 of them boots on ground hunting. Mostly packed in deep wilderness with rented llamas a couple different spots. Drew big points limited tags with my brother ABQBW. a combined 26 points.
Called this bull in nearly half mile across wide open meadow after calling in and passing a pile of bulls in 280-310ish range and lots of small bulls as well hoping for bigger. Bigger, especially for this area known for quantity and not large bulls, finally came together 9 miles from trailhead where we had llama packed in 7 miles for a 6-8 night trip. Really was a great adventure overall— hunting so many days and not seeing other hunters anywhere near us. Where I was hunting when killed this bull was 5 miles past deepest outfitter camp (our camp was 3 miles past). Camped at 11,600 ft and all hunting was just above and below treeline at 11,400 to 12,000 feet. Ended up killing the 3rd largest bull I saw in of all those hunting days so happy and satisfied.
Link is to a hunt recap thread I posted before during and after the hunt that has lots of pics and vids of the hunting action.
Great bull, you did good KHunter.
Wow! Very nice Kirby. That’s a monster. Thanks for sharing.

Nice pictures everyone.
Khunter, sounds like you found a nice deep honey hole.
Most of us complain about the Colorado DOW. And maybe with just cause. But hey at least they allows us mortals to go into the scary “Wilderness” alone.
No Kidding, AS. Requiring a nonresident to hire a guide to hunt wilderness such as in WY is such a scam.
2021 Idaho elk
2021 Idaho elk
Way late, but with season getting close I figured I’d share.
Hunted deer for 18 days and after getting my butt kicked it felt good to release a perfect arrow at 40 yards after all day cat and mouse with multiple bulls. Looking forward to getting back after em in just a couple weeks.
Other than my lack-of-posting ability :) , why wrong forum?
I will say trophy photos with the rifle hunter riding their kill are my favorite. ;)
Sorry, no rifle hunter in that pic.
My bad for assuming shortstop. Most bow hunters put their bow in the photo. You know what assuming gets you I guess.
