Always waiting for the last minute, I decided to get my elk tag early this year. So yesterday I went online and purchased my elk A and all the other add-ons required for it. The idea was the print at home option so I could print it immediately and not have to wait for them to mail it to me. I usually just go in to the office and buy it but decided the online fee might be worth the gas into town. After paying the fee, they sent me an email that said you get to print only once. I pushed the print button and got the message that a printer wasn't found. I cancelled and got the printer fixed up and then the FWP email said I already printed my license and couldn't print again. Upon calling and sitting on hold for over 10 minutes I found out that they would send it to me and since I was going out hunting Friday night, that wasn't going to work, so they said I could pay the 5.00 reprint fee and get it from the local office that I should have gone to in the first place. Well lucky for me, the woman at the local office was really nice and waved the reprint fee and I got my carcass tag. Moral of the story, get it done early or don't trust the online site.

But how do you know you can trust this online site?

I had them send me an antelope tag. I was thinking it would be weather resistant, etc. Nope.....it was a standard 8.5 x 10 piece of printer paper for the "tag". I'll have to use the plastic baggie and electrical tape route to affix it to the critter..

Yep, that is what all the tags went to. Ordinary paper. Fishing licenses too. Try to keep on of those in your wallet for the whole year.

Good advice by Wapitibob......Pay attention to where you save the PDF and give it a unique name like "Elktag". You'll be able to search your computer for the PDF file name if you save it to some random folder by accident.

Wapitibob has the right idea.
