My son’s first bear
Couldn’t be more proud of my son as I sat in the stand with him last night to take his first bear!
And the Storey goes?
Nice Bear, Congrats, details?
Congrats....any back story and stand pics??
Congrats to your son and you.
He drew on him at 6:45 and the bear got nervous and boogied off. He came in again at 7:10 but very nervous. He ran a couple smaller bears off the bait and my son drew but his leg was back so he held at full draw for 30 seconds and when the bear turned slightly 1/4ing away he released the arrow. The shot was a bit back and looked like liver blood on the arrow.
We waited overnight and blood trailed in the morning but came up empty after 3 hours. We went back to camp had breakfast and regrouped to search again. After 2 more hours of grid searching we found him in some swampy area that we had searched earlier but just not as far left as we went in the afternoon search.
Nice bear! Any idea on weight?
Congrats and good job finding him. Looks like a dandy
