I am starting to look around for places to go bear hunting. I am in south Alabama but don't mind driving. I would prefer a diy / public land bear, but I am not opposed to an outfit that has semi-guided hunts. I am not against a lottery, however, I don't want to have to buy points for 8 years before I can go...the country won't be around that long. Georgia and North Carolina are close by and not sure why, but they appeal to me. What are some of you guys' thoughts or suggestions?

Pine Acres…. Northwestern Ontario. It’s a hike but they put down some beautiful bears

Come on down to Georgia. We have a huge chunk of public and lots of bears. It isn't easy, but it is fun!

Feel free to shoot me a PM and I will give you the details I can.

MA-PAdeerslayer, I am not sure I can travel to Canada...my family was banned from the country a few years ago. Long story.

MA-PA...Ontario, New York is totally fine with me, (and interpol). Looking on the googles, I don't see a "Pine Acres" area. So the Canada story is more of my father and a judge reached a plea agreement...part of that agreement is we are no longer allowed in Canada. Rules were meant to be broken though am I right?!

You can write to Canada Government and ask for forgiveness. X2 on Pine Acres, Vermillion Bay Ontario. Sponsor on here.

I think this Canada story deserves it own thread. I can’t imagine a story where a judge can ban a whole family from enter Canada.

I missed the banned from Canada part. Scratch N.F. By the way I'm amazed that my family hasn't been banned from Canada. And everywhere else. Lol

You may want to look into Wisconsin, Minnesota, & the UP(Upper Peninsula of Michigan). Plenty of bears here in the frozen north.

Sidekick - I have not ruled those places out…are they OTC tags for non-residents?
