Just after sunrise a mama bobcat and two kittens walked by my stand. Mom caught my scent, grunted, and ran off. One of the little ones ran up a tree while the other just hunkered down on a log. They stayed for almost three hours! Five and ten yards away.
I drew on a buck chasing a doe but had to let off when I didn’t quite have a good shot. That’s when the one on the ground took off. Half hour later I rattled and the tree kitty didn’t like that and it skedaddled. That will never happen again.

Funny, I had the same encounter. Had a bobcat under my tree in Ohio. They are so cool.

Nice picture. I had 3 predators in the predawn this AM. I have 3 Great horned owls working over my place for rabbits and squirrels.
I’ve usually got one but 2 were within 30ft of each other and one was across the pasture calling to the others. Is that odd having 3 so close?

I like to see cats. I know they kill some deer, but I think I’ve killed my last bobcat. Coyotes, now that’s different.

Less coyotes (mange) seemed to increase the bobcat numbers where I hunted whitetails in Colorado years ago.
