This little guy wanted to show grandpa his first buck.
If this doesn’t choke you up you’re not human.
Yes, that one is special.
WOW!! That will make your eyes well up.

That’s really cool, nice headstone as well.
Grampa's smiling down on that one! Cool pic
Good stuff right there
Wonderful picture! I hope that they print it and frame so that 50 years from now they still have. Who knows what media will be use then.

Rips your heart out!
Yep, got to me too Pat.
Kinda bittersweet, and very moving. Definitely brought a tear or two, to my eyes.
As a dad, I'm not sure I could have held it together to take that picture.

Wow. That is special! Thanks for sharing. My grandfather instrumental for me becoming a hunter. I have not visited his grave in many years. I need to make it down and sit with him a while.
Must have just got something in my eye, things are a little blurry right now.
Thanks for sharing Pat.

Don't think that I have ever been touched more by a photo than this one. I vividly remember showing my grandfather my first buck (15 years old). Also remember each of my sons first bowkills. I am continuing to try to make my granddaughter's (and mine) wish for the same to come true with the bow. She is hooked after being present (actually saw him draw down and shoot) this year when my son took a P and Y 6x6 elk with his bow. Thank you Pat for making my day. Badbull

As the Deer Pants for water, part of which was on the stone memorial behind the young hunter. Martin J. Nystrom----------- You alone are my strength, my shield To You alone may my spirit yield You alone are my heart's desire And I long to worship Thee As the deer panteth for the water So my soul longeth after Thee You alone are my heart's desire And I long to worship Thee You're my friend And You are my brother Even though You are a King I love You more than any other So much more than anything I want You more than gold or silver Only You can satisfy You alone are the real joy giver And the apple of my eye
Wow. That’ll do it. I haven’t been to my grandfathers grave in too long. Can’t bring my self to go with my kids tho. Not ready for that yet. He woulda loved these munchkins I got running around now.
Gramp would be proud of that youngster no doubt about it
Thanks for posting this
Let us remember who walked before us and inspired our passion.
Man that’s a photo.
That’s unique to say the least. Granpa would be so proud.
Amazing and awesome photo! Made my eyes water right away. Thanks for sharing Some of the greatest memories of hunting were with my late grandpa.
