I've been around here since 2005, and have seen how Bowsite has rallied behind its members. So here it goes...
My little brother, John E, is in need or your thoughts and prayers. He was rushed to the ICU yesterday by ambulance. COVID is trying its best to knock him out, but he's a fighter. Toughest guy I know, can take a punch and keep on going.
Today he was put on a ventilator. I trust, pray, and hope for his future recovery. During this time financial obligations don't go away. His two dogs, Buddy and Charlie will be missing him as well. Those guys have been through thick and thin with him.
I thank the Lord for my two amazing parents. They need prayers and support at this time too.
John E, I trust God will allow us to share many more hunting and fishing trips together again soon!

Hopefully Canada allows the covid antibodies if it is within 10 days of onset. I hope your brother makes a full recovery. It is such a crazy virus. Some people handle it so well and others do poorly. I hope to come back to this thread and see you and your brother in a new Pic with a dead animal.

Update: John will be on the ventilator for two weeks or so. Obviously that could change but that's what they expect.
If you have social media can you post your moose pics with #johnestrong? Or post them here if ya like. His favourite animal to hunt is moose. Lord willing we will finally share a moose hunt together one day.

Thanks for all the prayers and contributions. I just got an update that they took him off his heavy sedatives. He opened his eyes, wiggled his toes, squeezed the nurses hand, and they are able to remove flem from his lungs. We are all very thankful as everything points to recovery. He is not the sickest in the ICU. It will be a long road to recovery from what the medical team has told us. If anyone wants to contribute you can click on the link to his GoFundMe.

He's off the ventilator as of yesterday. They will keep him in the ICU until he stabilizes. Thanks again everyone, he still has a ways to recovery.

John is very close to being released from the hospital. We are already planning a moose hunt. It will be our first one together.

Hope your bro is in the roll now. My close friend went through the same scenario. 18 days in ICU ventilator. Lost 40 lbs and his voice (starting to comeback) we are so thankful. We and some other classmates/friends had dinner at the local inn. It was good too see him with the color back in face and being the usual ball buster he is. Overused phrase but live is so fragile. Enjoy it and live .

Thanks for all the comments, well whishes and pms. It really does mean a lot. I just thought I would give an update. John has had a miraculous recovery, and is back at his place on his own. Once out of the hospital he stayed at my parents for a couple weeks. We have a DIY northern Manitoba moose hunt planned with our dad. It's going to be 17 straight days of moose hunting heaven. This will be our first moose hunt together. I think the last time we all hunted together was in 2008? This will be a special hunt for sure! They will be gun hunting, but I'm still on the fence whether to bow or gun. I haven't gun hunted in 11 years, so it will be a change.
