I'm new to the cellular cameras and received this camera as a Christmas gift. What can I expect from this camera?

Thanks!

With the cellular tactacams, do the SD cards need to be formatted even if they are new?

06-Jan-22
Yes..... according to the directions they want you to format the card in the cam itself. I just bought one last weekend but haven't activated it yet. And those class 10, U3 cards aren't cheap. $22 at Bestbuy.

I just use the SD cards I have kicking around - no problems

Always a good idea to format them in any camera you use

And do a full format not a quick format.32mg card will take about 1/2 hour.I found I need to use dedicated cards for all my camera's,not just the Tactamcams.I only us SanDisK

I have been using class 10 U3 cards which are recommended. When I did not have them available, I have used class 10 U1 successfully. I would guess that a class 4 U1 card would not work.
